Q vs. Q. Each Q is given 10 minutes to do their best, or worse if so inclined by the Pax. This was Hot Pursuit representing the Army and Mr. Belding representing the Marines. YHC arrived 1st and would get to go first. As I was pulling into Winterville Park the mist that hung in the air gave the place a real feel of being in the Gloom. YHC knew that the morning would bring a few surprises and that they would make everything that much more meaningful. As Pax pulled in my brother Pong emerged from his car. After the bro hugs went around he told YHC and Bad Boy the details of his recent illness. The man has that look in his eye. The one he had when we did our 1st F3 Superbowl together. “I’m here and it’s a gift so I ain’t quitting”. Other Pax began to roll in and soon Bad Boy gave the command to circle up and the “Army vs. Marines” Q vs. Q was on like Donkey Kong.

THE THANG

Marines: Mosey to field behind baseball field 1. Bear Crawl Merkins (4 count bear; 1 merkin; 4 count bear 2 merkins) repeat until you get to the end of the fence ON THE RIGHT! (emphasis for the Pax who beileved YHC was going to have everyone go the length of the outfield String Bean, O-Town) Plank for the 6. Mosey back to start. Pair up. 100 Team Burpees. While P1 does 10 P2 does LBCs. Pancake, Flap Jack or Switch Cake until you get to 100. Cut short at around 50. (Don’t do Burpees next to Grammar! Note to YHC). Army is up next.

ARMY: Mosey to pond area; staggered release in groups of three to run quarter mile track with pauses at seven bench stations for squats and imperial walkers X 5, plank-a-thon (Grammar: “I don’t think I’m doing my Imperial Walkers right. I don’t seem to get much out of them.”) at release/finish point. Marines back on deck.

Marines: Mosey to the field behind ball field #2. Stacked BLIMPS Burpees x 5; Lunges x 10; Imperial Walkers x 15 (Great job Grammar); Merkins x 20; Plank Jacks x 25; Squats x 30. Start with the burpees run to next light post. Burpees and Lunges. You get the picture. The Pax pushed it here. Most made it to Plank Jacks and with a few who were doing squats when the time was called. Army back up on deck.

Army: Mosey to small field with “Hill”, 7’s: bear crawl from line to hilltop/flag, WWII’s, crab walk back down to start line, flutter kicks, Also of note: YHC slipped and fell early on wet grass enroute to first beatdown site but recovered. CousinIT brought up the fall numerous times, relentlessly, the rest of the time.

MOLESKIN

The chance to lead in a Q vs. Q with Hot Pursuit is humbling. He is a High Impact Man of faith and integrity who exemplifies the 3rd F. This was not a contest for YHC. It was an opportunity to serve with a great man. Seeing Pong out in the gloom again gave YHC a little more incentive to shake off the lack of sleep and dig deep. Great seeing you this morning brother. The #mumblechatter was great this morning. The “Slippery Hill” assault and the complaining about crab walking was great. YHC has to give a shout out to Rafiki. The guy is doing EC and tearing through workouts. Aquaman is always making everything fun and Bad Boy is growing an AO to rival them all. Make the chance to get to the #Sandlot. Most of all thanks Hot Pursuit and all who serve and have served this country. Semper Fi!
