Abu typically Q’s his own site. If you go back through the backblasts, this happens more often than not. But not today. YHC got headlocked to Q Boyd Lee Beatdown last week via the twitter machine. I believe only two PAX posted last week, Abu and Mr. Belding (RESPECT), I responded to Abu’s post and told him that the fartsack got me that morning and that I would be there the following week. Like I true professional, he took that opportunity to HL me to Q. I accepted on that condition that he Q at the Clydesdales in December. He agreed, and the deal was set.

YHC, Cousin IT, Abu, Bambino, Panther, and Noonan all set out for an EC Ruck at 0615. We got back about 4 minutes before 0700, and we already had a crowd waiting. 12 Pax circled up and got started.

Warm Up (mumble chatter was already starting)

  • SSH – 15 – IC
  • Good Mornings – 15 – IC
  • Arm Circles Front and Back – 10 – IC

The Thang

Once we arrived, YHC explained that we needed to get properly warmed up and get the blood pumping a little bit. so we would do a variation of the half “Murph”.

10 rounds of:

  • 5 pull ups (50 total)
  • 10 merkins (100 total)
  • 15 squats (150 total)

This was done with a partner, OYO. Once completed, PAX members were instructed to run back to the flag and plank for the 6.

Next, we grabbed our KBs and circled up

1st circuit

  • KB single arm curls (each arm)
  • KB single arm shoulder press (each arm)
  • Completed 2 reps of each, then 4, then 6, then 8, and finished with 10

2nd circuit

  • KB Thrusters (each arm)
  • Completed 10 reps of each, then 8, then 6, then 4, then 2 (these sucked)

3rd circuit

  • KB Russian Swings – 20 – IC
  • KB Curl-Press-Tricep Extension – 10 – IC
  • KB Backward Lunge – 10 – IC
  • KB One arm alternating swings – 10 each side – IC
  • KB Sumo Squats – 20 – IC

Then we dropped our KBs and went to the edge of the building for Balls to the Wall. We held BTTW while each PAX gave a 10 count

YHC was a little worried about this Q. I’ve only been doing F3 since July, but I’ve had the opportunity to Q a handful of times. Not one of those times were a one hour workout like the Saturday workouts are. And not one of those times were a KB workout. YHC has been looking forward to this Q all week, and even had a nice weinke prepared. I got up early this morning ready to go and EC ruck before the workout. As I was driving over, I realized I left my weinke on the kitchen table. Luckily I had remembered most of what I had prepared.

YHC really wanted to see the numbers increase for this workout. My first post was at Boyd Lee Beatdown, and we had 16 PAX at that workout. Lately the numbers have been lower on the weekends due to the holiday season, weather, prior commitments, fartsack, etc. So YHC put out a challenge to several PAX members via Twitter, and just about all accepted the challenge! The mumblechatter was awesome this morning… from Cable’s seam (you had to be there) to Noonan busting my chops for using a 25lb KB while Qing. F3 has been great. I’ve met a lot of really cool people. The brotherhood is real, and I’m thankful for that.
