Been on the IR for a couple weeks trying to heal a few knicks and dings. Because of the IR, had to bail on a few Qs so made sure I was ready to roll Monday. Had a early 0420 EC Ruck with Patch, Tip, Ratched, Tap, Bench, Haavaad, Pied Piper and Psycho. A few other PAX were hanging out on the other side of the parking lot doing their Heavy/Drop ruck training.

YHC was expecting a decent crowd based on the great weather but had no clue we would have the turnout that we did. Circled up at the flag at 0530 and had a total of 37 PAX ready to rock including one FNG, welcome Cobain! Disclaimer given and we were off…

The Thang

Informed the PAX that we would complete Part II of the Boyd Lee Files which Chimichanga created a few weeks back. “The Files” is basically a “Choose Your Own Adventure” where YHC provided PAX with a series of areas or “Chapters” to workout. PAX would choose their adventure and YHC would provide the workout. The chapters this week for the Boyd Lee Files included; The Rock Pile, The Grassy Area Near The Flag, The Wall, The Shelter, The Driveway, The Baseball Field and the Play or “Pain”Ground. YHC called upon String Bean for the first chapter and he chose…

The Shelter

At the shelter, PAX would partner up. Partner A would perform Balls to the Wall on the baseball backstop while Partner B would perform a series of exercises. Partners flapjacked between exercises. Exercises included the following;

(10) Super Step-Ups

(20) Erkins

(30) LBCs

(40) Dips

YHC then called upon OTown for the next adventure and he chose…

The Rock Pile

Upon getting to the rock pile, YHC warned the PAX to chose their rocks wisely. Once rocks were picked up, YHC informed the PAX that we were ready to partake in the Rockin’ 100. PAX would make one lap around BLP with their rocks, stopping at each intersection for an exercise with 25 reps. Totaling 100 reps after the lap was complete.

Intersection 1- 25 Curls for the Girls (led by Noonan)

Intersection 2- 25 Tricep Extensions (led by Haavaad)

Intersection 3- 25 Goblin Squats (led by Stern)

Intersection 4- 25 Bench Presses (led by Bench)

Moseyed back to the rock pile to toss the rocks. YHC then called upon Padre for the next chapter…

The Grassy Area

PAX lined up at the far end of the area. There were a total of 4 trees and PAX would crab walk to the first tree, then bear crawl to the next tree and continue to this pattern all the way to the last tree. At the end, 30 LBCs then rinsed and repeated coming back.

Was getting short on time so called on Whatley to try to squeeze in one more chapter…

The Wall

At the Wall, PAX would first assume People’s Chair. One at a time, PAX would bear crawl to the light pole and then run back, then the next PAX would take off. Cycled through all 37 of us. Next assumed Balls to the Wall with each PAX giving a 3 count… well except for Tap, who did his typical 30 count.

0630 was fast approaching so back to the flag…

Announcements

  • 116 ruck invasion this week… taking over Boyd Lee Broga
  • Iron PAX challenge, show up to the SchoolYard on Wednesday
  • Bono challenged us to venture out (take a group with you) and visit other sites and even volunteer to Q. Big numbers are great but spread the love

Moleskin

Felt so good to be back in the gloom with my brothers. It was also nice to hear from many of you during my stint on IR, just to check in to make sure everything was good. That communication goes a long way when you are away from the gloom. Also so awesome to get 37 guys out there today… got the ol Q Juice flowing for sure. Definitely Bono’s words hit home this morning. YHC challenges each of you to step out of your comfort zone and visit other sites that you might not be familiar with; Collard Patch, 116, Clydesdales, Eagles Ridge, just to name a few. Grab a few bros to go with you and those site numbers will start to climb as well. Until next time…
