I posted back on 10-2 after a little hiatus from BLP Buildup and Backhoe asked for some Q’s and I obliged. Ended up as Q Tuesday at Eagles Ridge and didn’t want the two to be similar in case anyone made it to both. Easy Rider wins the award for surviving TWO DAYS OF MAYHEM. T Claps Brother! I had an idea already from a day when not many showed so I was ready to go. Arrived EARLY……as I did yesterday as well. Planted the shovel flag beside Backhoe’s flag and watched as 15 PAX circled up. Here’s how it went down.

Warm Up

  • Good Mornings x 10 IC
  • Good Nights x 10 IC
  • SSH x 10 IC
  • Elephant Walk x 5 IC doesn’t work on those……as Q discovered…..so OYO
  • Butt Kickers x 10 IC

The Thang

Partner Up; warm up lap of Catch Me If You Can

  • Run Backward on walkway
  • Partner does 2 Burpees and runs to catch you so of course YOU can do 2 Burpees

This was tougher than last time YHC did this so just another sign that I need to post more! Several stepped in standing water and a few muddy spots along the way.

Mosey to the Rock Pile with your partner and pick out a rock that won’t embarrass you; heard some mumblechatter about not liking their previous partner and wanting a new one, so that was allowed. Not sure anyone actually switched though. YHC had the PAX line up facing the traffic circle. Partner runs around the traffic circle while the other partner performs the Rock Exercise. Flap Jack until done.

  • Curls
  • Rows
  • Tricep Extensions
  • Overhead Squat Press

Return rocks to the pile and mosey over to the keyhole and umbrella between softball fields. Choose a new partner that you like better this time!

YHC called for BLIMPS; however, we ran short of time and only completed BLIM before it was time to return to the shovel flag.

  • Burpees x 50
  • Lunges x 100
  • Imperial Walkers x 150
  • Merkins x 200

At the shovel flag we had about 45 seconds left so we squeezed in the P

  • Plank Jacks x 10 IC

Moleskin

Back in November 2016 I started doing F3. I was overweight and in terrible shape. I jumped all in. Lost a bunch of weight and felt a lot better. As I got into better shape I started visiting different AO’s. I moved toward more running (although I am not a runner) and did a couple of Sasquatch’s, have done several 5k’s. I have had a few bumps along the way. Had a fall and sprained a wrist last February that led me to stay away from Boot Camps and run more. The problem is I never got back. In addition, I find that this older version of Mayhem recovers a bit slower after a run. Plus I am now happily married and have become fat and happy. To be quite honest there are several mornings when laying in warm bed with my wife has given the fartsack more power! So here I stand today….at one point I was down to 215…..I am at 235 now. It didn’t sneak up on me, but I turned a blind eye to it. I have been playing tennis so I am not in as bad a shape as I was in when I started; however, somethings got to change. my new year’s resolution (before new years) is to get back to basics. I need more boot camp in my life. Be it BLP, Minges, Schoolyard, or even West Side Story…….I need to get my ass out of bed and make it to Boot Camps at least 3-4 times per week. Then if I can mix in a ruck on Saturday or a run on Thursday at Rush, all the better. Add in a couple nights of tennis…..and I am hoping Mayhem can get back to his fighting weight. I NEED YOUR HELP Brothers. I know I am not the only one this has happened to, so if you feel the same way that I do…..re commit. We all need the accountability. Feel free to ask me to Q anytime.
