YHC put it out there that I had 2 workouts planned distance George Washington or speed his VP John Adams.  Almost everyone wanted speed so we went after that. Now YHC couldn’t have his first presidential track workout honor John Adams so I modified. George Washington was the founding father of our great country.  So in honor of him YHC decided to make a workout honoring the great man on the 1 dollar bill.

The Thang:

Warm up: 800 meters (2 laps) easy

The workout:

1st Set: George Washington Fartlek (sprint the straights jog the curves) we did this 8x for 100 meters with a 100 meter recovery (8x100M with 100m recovery). G.W. was the 1st President (100m and he served for 8 years 8x) Mind is blown I know!

2nd Set: 6X400 HARD with 400 easy (meaning run a 400m hard with a 400 meter easy 6 times).  Goal was to do 8×400 but YHC had to adjust due to time. Significance was G.W. served 4 year terms=400 meters for a total of 8 years =8x but oh well.

Cool down: for time until 6:15

Prayer Requests: We ask for strength and understanding in moments of struggle

Injured PAX: The Hot Spot, Pied Piper, others

Wimpie’s 2.0

Spalding’s daughter with the flu

Moleskin:

Every time I run on the track a new way to love it comes up.  Last week it was about no lights, no cars, no disruptions.  This week Abu had a solid point of it’s the freedom to just run. If YHC asked you to run 1/4 mile hard while running a 5 mile route around the town you would constantly need to look at your watch and not be in tune with your pace.  The Oval Office allows you to put away those distractions and dial in the hard stuff to become a stronger or faster runner. Whether you are looking for speed, distance, or mumble chatter, The Oval Office is starting to shape up to be a fun challenge for all, know matter where you are on your running/fitness journey. The next paragraph is about something that has been on my heart since the New Year.  You can read on, if not I pray you have a blessed day and thanks for posting!

This year one of my resolutions was to be more focused.  By that I mean intentionally focus on important things in my life. As a new small business owner it is EASY for that to consume your every moment and even becomes and excuse to not be present mentally or physically.  This year I prayed to change that. For my family it’s to focus on being present, doing more with them, being with them emotionally, giving them my all, being FOCUSED on them.  Another area I want to focus on is with F3 and the relationships that come with that. When my family and I moved to the area in May of 2017 to open up Fleet Feet it was just us.  Thanks to T-Bone persistently telling me about F3, Bono, and lastly Abu they trifecta headlocked me into posting at The Commons in October of 2017, I first found a group “to run with”. That QUICKLY changed into a group of men that supported me and gave me a place to feel a positive and challenging relationship, fellowship became 1st and running became 2nd in order of importance.

I feel this month God has placed before me different scripture or even a church service about surrounding yourself with people that build you up and that you have like minded life intentions. Without a doubt F3 was my first thought.  So when Abu challenged me to be site Q for The Oval Office, the first thing I did was pray, not for God to give me an answer of IF I should do this, it was to ask for strength TO DO this because this was what he was preparing me for with scripture. Thank you men for your support in life, not just to me but those we surround ourselves with each morning, and to make our community a better place. God Bless.
