Chain Gang Ruck Club Callout

Who has done the most GoRuck events?

Ma Bell and Vanilla with 4 events were assigned team captains. They rock paper scissored for first pick. Ma Bell won and chose Tonka. Once the teams were selected, I asked:

Who has not done a GoRuck event?

I chose the first two I saw, Noonan (team Vanilla) and Cousteau (team Ma Bell) as Team Leaders (TLs) and gave them each a bucket of 35 ft. of chain. You have 5 minutes to connect your team with the chain. Teams go in opposite directions with the goal of mileage. Team with the most mileage at 6:10 wins. Both teams went with a 2 x 2 zig zag approach with the chains using carabiners to connect it to the ruck sacks.

Ma Bell’s team came out on top by .2 miles. Lots of mumble chatter and a good amount of shuffling to hit our 3 mile goal, but we knocked out it and had a great time doing it. It was a great way to start the day. Good work men! Now that I have 70 ft. of chain, I’ll be looking for more ways to incorporate it in my Qs. #BoydLeeBeatdown looks like a good place to start.

Prayer Requests: Vanilla’s M’s uncle (5 transplants), Candy Cane’s 2.0, injured PAX, praise for our FNGs for coming out

Announcements: Lunch at Angus Grill on Jarvis St. at 12 pm

Moleskin: Today was scheduled to be a QvQ with Bono last week and me this week, but once the Ruck Club callout was posted last Wednesday I couldn’t resist to call an audible on my original plan. Lots of ideas swirled around my head but I settled on simplicity (how about that Tonka) and competition. I think it worked out well. The laughs shared between Noonan, Off the Top, and I was awesome. Bono, I know your blood sugar was down and we sure did miss you brother. Next time.
