YHC arrived early to get some EC with Pasted Due and Spaulding. I was a little nervous and went through the route way too fast. Goal was to incorporate parts of the oldest running route in Greenville, the GSP 10 miler.  The original route included the greenway which was a dirt road back then  The route changed after being threatened by a drunk with a crowbar.  Also we thought it was a good idea to avoid the needles left by drug users on Dickens Ave sidewalk.

The Thang

Down Cotanche St, left on 14th St., left on E Rock Springs Rd. And back out W Rock Springs Road, left on 14th crossing Elm St., left on Dalebrook Cr., right on Deerwood back to right on 14th St., right on Elm St., right on 1st St., left on Warren St., left on greenway back to the flag.  14 St section down Elm St is part on the new GPS 10 mile route.

We circled back for the six at major intersection.  The hazardous part of the run was navigating the toxic waste spill, the contents of two over turned porta potties.

i wanted the route to include good flat straightaways and mix in some hills to break up the run.

The Sweede is moving and starting a new job in the Southern Pines area. Floater’s M is having knee replacement surgery on Tuesday so he will be MIA for a while. Prayers for those running the Ironclad half marathon in Kingston next Saturday.  All those still recovering from the last two hurricanes.
