If you ever trick or treat at a dentist’s house, you’ll notice two constants:  1)  shitty treats and 2)  elaborate jack-o-lanterns.  YHC decided to use the Strava map as the canvas for part of a jack-o-lantern today.  After a little warm-up run to 5th and back to 1st and one rep of #TheClimb, we ran blocks from Elm St. to Summit from 5th St.  These blocks formed a very crude set of jack-o-lantern teeth on the Strava map.

From Summit, we ran up to 10th, then over to Evans.  YHC has been eyeing the new 10 St. Connector ever since it was a pile of dirt.  YHC has been surprised that no one has taken advantage of this incline at any of the running AOs this summer, esp. in preparation for the BRR.  YHC was all jacked up to introduce it to the PAX today and christen it with a menacing name.  Unfortunately, as we crossed Evans, Cousin IT informed YHC that the connector was conquered “many times” this summer and even already a name….”The Nipple”.  We ran it nonetheless, though only once, as time was drawing near to head back to the flag.  With a couple of minutes left, we ran down to the river and back to use up the entire hour.

YHC was honored to be asked to Q this week.  The Commons is hands-down my favorite AO in ENC.  The drive for me is a time for self-meditation before and after being challenged by better and faster runners.  The conversation among these friends is great, and the friendships were even further solidified by the BRR.  YHC is looking forward to keeping up the BRR team camaraderie through the winter and continuing to challenge each other to get faster and increase our endurance.  YHC appreciates the opportunity to give back to The Commons.
