YHC has been looking forward to this Q for a long time. Silverback had reached out back in December at The Sandlot about possibly doing some sort of collaboration involving The Good Fight and The Clydesdales. A couple of ideas were thrown around, and we ultimately decided that we would switch sites for one day, and YHC would Q The Good Fight and Silverback would Q The Clydesdales. We had a date originally set, and then YHC came down with a stomach virus and had to reschedule for today.

YHC pulled up to Paramore Park around 0520 and there were already a few cars in the parking lot. A good sign! There were no ECers today (unless YHC missed them, speak up if you did!). By the time we circled up at 0530, we had 22 strong, with 3 FNGs brought by Fruity Pebbles!. The beatdown went something like this:

Warm Up

  • SSH – 20 – IC
  • Cotton Pickers – 10 – IC
  • SSH – 20 – IC
  • Merkins – 10 – IC
    • This is where the mumblechatter really got started
  • SSH – 20 – IC
  • Good Mornings – 10 – IC
    • Obviously Bono had something to say about these
  • SSH – 20 – IC
  • Lap around the park

The Thang

We circled back up after the lap and grabbed our KBs. YHC explained we would do a few groups of supersets, 2 rounds of each, all in cadence.

1st superset

  • Goblet Squat – 12 – IC
  • Merkins – 12 – IC
  • 1 Burpee OYO
  • REPEAT

2nd superset

  • Russian KB Swing – 12 – IC
  • Curls for the girls – 12 – IC
  • 2 burpees OYO
  • REPEAT

3rd superset

  • Sumo Squat – 12 – IC
  • KB row – 10 each side – IC
  • 3 burpees OYO
  • REPEAT

After that, YHC instructed everyone to partner up with someone with a similar weight KB. YHC decided to take an idea from my first ever Good Fight post, which was led by Cousin IT, and use a similar circuit workout from that post.

Partner 1 would do a suicide from the fence to the end of the parking lot and back, while partner 2 would perform AMRAP exercises of 2 different movements. Then flapjack. Each time we would flapjack, the person doing the suicide would go to the next closest car, so that we would constantly making the distance shorter over time.  YHC would call time when a round was completed

Round 1 (suicides done normally)

  • 5 reps of KB Thrusters w/ both KBs
  • 10 irkins
  • As many rounds as possible until partner returned, then flapjack

Round 2 (back pedal suicides)

  • 10 KB chest press w/ both KBs
  • 10 KB squats w/ both KBs
  • AMRAP until partner returned, flapjack

Round 3 (bear crawl suicides)

  • 5 pull ups
  • 10 WWI’s w/ KB
  • AMRAP, then flapjack

Round 3 is where the mumblechatter really amplified. Some weren’t too happy to have to bearcrawl the suicides because of the sandspurs in the grass. If YHC would have known about the sandspurs, an alternate suicide would have been chosen, but there was no turning back, and the most of us powered through it. Others chose to bear crawl the parking lot, which was probably just a miserable.

We finished round 3 with 2 minutes to spare, so we circled up for some Mary

  • Flutterkicks
  • American Hammers w/ KB

This one was a lot of fun! This is the first time I have had the chance to post at The Good Fight since taking over as site Q for The Clydesdales back in November. I was nervous since it was my first time Qing at The Good Fight, but I got through it and had a blast. It’s always fun Qing with a big crowd too. I recommend any site Qs to each out to the other site Qs that have a site on the same day as yours, and organize a swap for a week. We get into these routines and post to the same sites each day/week, and that is more so for site Qs as they typically post every week at their own site. Do something different! Break the routine and post somewhere new! I know I need to go out to Farmville sometime soon since I’ve never been. And Grammar has been trying to get me to go to a running AO… one of these days I will, whenever I can get myself to the point where I can run more than 2 miles consecutively without stopping haha. Until next time…

Chimi Out!
