YHC kicked off the workout with quick instructions of the game plan outlined below.

The route:

Out to Arlington to Greenville Blvd.

Greenville Blvd to Charles

Slip off Charles for the loop around the Dept of Health Ed building back to Charles

Down Charles to the bottom of the parking lot near the ECU tennis courts.

Then back the way we came.

Instructions:

At any major intersections circle back to the six. This double back would be a sprint pace.  Once six is at major intersection all Pax do 10 merkins OYO.

Following instructions, quick round of good morning and high knees to warm up and then we launched.

As we set out, a soft rain started, which continued for most of the run. The hope was that our completion time would be in advance of the heavy rain, according to the radar would be at about 6:20.  To give the rain company, the wind decided to join in on the run, blowing a gale!

Once at the end point parking lot Pax did 15 derkins to mix it up.  On our turn for the return leg of the out and back a wise man – Bono- spoke up suggesting we take the greenway back.  This was well received by all and our out and back became a loop.  A change of scenery, a route that didn’t have an uphill and out of the blowing wind.  Also it got us back to the flag keeping us on time.

Closed out per SOP.

Prayers for: lost boy in Craven County (Thank you LORD that he has been found), returning students and teachers, injured/sick Pax, and unity of the nation.

YHC appreciated the oppty to Q and be challenged to get out of bed on a rainy morning.  Coming off a week of sickness it difficult to want to face undesirable weather.  Fortunately enough we were blessed with 64 degrees rather than the 32 degrees of the previous day.  Made running in the rain and wind more tolerable.  Good to be feeling healthy again and out with the Pax!
