(Mayhem) Bad Boy has done a great job promoting this AO. Although I was slow to pick up on the Q vs Q concept, as soon as I heard about it, I knew I wanted to challenge Bench. He’s a PAX member that I really enjoy not only working out with, but also talking to at workouts or at the baseball field. Hard to separate the baseball mentality people! So I knew it would be a fun time! I wasn’t sure what to expect, so I came in with three 10 minute workouts in mind, not knowing where we might end up, or what Bench might do.

(Bench) YHC would like to give Bad Boy credit for his creativity in generating excitement for The Sandlot. I’m sure it’s tough to attract PAX to The Sandlot on Tuesdays with popular Ruck Ready and Run Strong. T Claps to Bad Boy for coming up with this great idea. There’s been a lot of mumblechatter lately throughout F3ENC with the various Q vs Q match-ups and YHC was glad to be involved. The challenge was accepted and a plan was put into place. 20 PAX gathered for the showdown. Mayhem chose to go first and third. YHC had rounds two and four.

Warm Up

Bad Boy lead us in:

  • SSH x 12
  • Merkins  x 12
  • Good Mornings  x 12

The THANG

(Mayhem) Believe it or not, Mayhem arrived first, so YHC chose to go first, being that we were at the Tennis Courts already.  Counted off the PAX in 1’s and 2’s.  We had an even 20, so we had two groups of 10. Short mosey to the tennis courts where I explained the Tennis Court Relay;

  • Each team line up for Wall Sit on each back fence. First man sprints down the left alley toward the net
  • Karaoke to his right to the right alley
  • run backwards to the PAX
  • High Knees down the line and the next man goes.
  • First team to finish wins and chooses an penalty exercise; Winners do 5 reps / Losers do 10 reps.

We actually had time to do this TWICE and each team won, and of course chose Burpees, so it all equaled out. Mayhem, Stabler, and Rafiki all appeared to be shot by a sniper during the second relay; however, disclaimer was given during warm up, so no lawsuits are possible.

(Bench) YHC had some stations prepared with a super set at each station which would rotate with a partner carry around the circle of the amphitheater. The stations were:

  • Partner Carry (1 each person)
  • Throwdowns
  • Jump Lunges / Jump Squats
  • Shoulder Tap Merkins / Hand Release Merkins
  • Side Straddle Hops
  • Crab Plank / Freddie Mercury’s
  • Burpees
  • Hallelujahs
  • Plank Jacks / Mountain Climbers
  • Circle Run

This round looked great on paper; however, after the explanation and demonstration we were only able to get through 3 stations…..that 10 minutes went fast! Future Q v Q participants be on notice! Enjoyed some good mumblechatter as YHC partner carried Mayhem, and then Mayhem partner carried YHC on the first set.

Mayhem gathered the men at the back road and took a short run to the area between the (3) ball fields. That would be the starting point aka Home Base.

  • 20 LBC’s
  • Run down sidewalk South and do Mule Kicks against fence x 10
  • return to Home Base for 20 LBCs
  • Run down other sidewalk for Batting Cage Burpees x 10
  • return to Home Base for 20 LBCs
  • Run to Picnic Shelter for Super Step Ups x 10
  • Return to Home Base for 20 LBCs
  • Run to Parking Lot for Mike Tysons x 10
  • Return to Home Base for 20 LBCs

Bench wanted to do something Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless for this round. While doing recon over the weekend YHC noticed that one of the baseball fields has a portable fence along the outfield about waist high. YHC thought it would be a good idea to snake jump over the fence across the entire outfield wall. Mission accomplished. T-Claps to Frank the Tank who killed it. PAX ran back to the start point, formed a single line and performed Lt. Dans to the flag (approx. 100 yards)

As we approach Easter Sunday and celebrate Christ as our Risen Lord, it is time to resurrect some missing PAX members who we haven’t seen in a while. I challenge each and every one of you to reach out and get at least ONE F3 member to return to the gloom who hasn’t been here in a while. It was great to see Richard Simmons posting this morning! Phone call or face to face contact is hard to beat. See how people are doing. Sometime men are going through things and withdraw or fall back into old habits. That Fart Sack is powerful, especially during this cold weather! Things are thawing out now, so let’s get these Men of F3 out of hibernation and back to the gloom! – Mayhem
