Well yesterday Past Due put out on Twitter that he needed a Q for The Sandlot and I quickly accepted. I accepted because I needed the accountability. Since the Sasquatch, I have only posted 4 times but had some great excuses: I was tired after Sasquatch and deserved a break. I have run twice on Thursdays in the Trollingwood 5K in the afternoons. I have played tennis a few times and was sore and tired the next morning. I was in San Diego for Zach’s Marine Corp Graduation (the most legitimate of the excuses!). I was tired and sore after the San Diego trip/plane ride.  But the truth is I allowed myself to slip, like we all do from time to time. So yesterday I decided to make myself accountable to the PAX by taking on this Q. If you find yourself lacking some motivation…..don’t be scared to shake things up. Get out of your comfort zone. Obligate yourself. Commit.

I drove up to the Sandlot behind Past Due and was pleased to see what a TREMENDOUS turnout we had. I saw we had a Welcome Back Kotter with Kahuna present, and he brought an FNG. Hot Spot was back to join us in the Gloom. Important to note that Hot Spot was back posting following his shoulder issues, and Kahuna was posting following hip replacement. No Excuses! 5:30 rolled around and we got started with a QUICK warmup:

SSH x 15

Good Mornings x 15

The Thang

That was all the warm up we needed, because the Dice of Death would have us moving the rest of the morning.  YHC found this fun 12 sided demon at Five Below right after the Sasquatch, as Squeeze Play and I were looking for a foam roller !  It has an awesome assortment of pain options such as: 25 Crunches , 10 Lunges, 10 Burpees, Run for 2 minutes, 1 min wall sit, 10 frog jumps (Jump Squats), 10 Push Ups (Merkins), 10 Mountain Climbers, 15 Jumping Jacks (SSH), 10 Squats, Balls to the Wall, and Water Break.  We never rolled Water Break, but would have used it as an exercise of choice, not a water break !

After a quick mosey over to the amphitheater we started rolling the dice. After about 5 rolls of the dice we hit 2 minute run for the second time and ran over to the batting cages, which were well lit I might add. Several rolls of the dice resulted in back to back 1 minute Wall Sits which incited some mumblechatter. Our 10 Burpees were PERFECT BURPEES, as I took a page out of Bench’s last Q and placed the emphasis on Burpee form and quality rather than speed resulting in sloppy Burpees and flying squirrels. Several rounds of lunges, Merkins, and Mountain Climbers and YHC felt the need to mix things up.

A short jog over to the parking lot and the PAX partnered up.  We would roll the Dice of Death and multiply the exercise amount x 10.  Our Dora resulted in:

100 Lunges

150 SSH

100 Lunges AGAIN

The leakage was strong and the PAX was having fun, but it was time to head back to the shovel flag. We arrived and had 5 minutes do squeeze in some Mary exercises:  Freddie Mercuries, Flutter Kicks, LBCs, and American Hammers up until 6:15
