This was my first Q on a Saturday, and I was excited!  I went through the whole list of exercises to find some new things we haven’t done or have been a while since we have.  I was preparing a beatdown in my mind for two weeks, then came the third leg of the hound on Thursday, and then a run on Friday, and became a little weary hoping that I wasn’t going to be too tough on myself haha.  I got up early to get some cold water ready for the PAX, and stretch before we began.  Two FNGs showed up for a rough morning.  I introduced myself for the new guys, and those that haven’t seen much.  Disclaimer was given as we began.

The Warm-Up:

  • 10 Good Mornings IC
  • 15 Butt Kickers IC

The Thang, Part #1:

We moseyed from Festival Park, down the boardwalk, up to Market St, and then to the little corner of real estate besides the Tourist Center.  Here we completed 20 Knerkins.

Moseyed further down the boardwalk, and then back up the street to a nearby construction area.  Here we grabbed coupons (cinderblocks).  We did 20 Elf on the Shelf.

Off again, we moseyed up to Main St, across Market St to a little parking area behind the shops.  We partnered up and did Vacuum Cleaners from one the median to the other side and back.  Then the partners rotated.

After everyone had finished, we began moseying yet again.  This time back to the large gazebo at Festival Park.  Here we did 20 Imperial Squat Walkers.

Finally, one last short mosey across the field to the final position where we completed 10 Newton’s Cradles.

The Thang, Part #2:

Next, we met Charles Bronson. 50 SSHs, Sprint to the tree in the middle of Festival Park, then low crawl to the Civil War Monument, and then return to the starting position.  50 Merkins, sprint, crawl, return.  50 Burpees, sprint, crawl, return.  50 LBCs, sprint, crawl, return.  50 Jump Squats, sprint, crawl, return.

Shew, some modifications began to show up towards the end, changing from low crawl to bear crawl or lunges.

The men on Washington, NC are beasts!  Charles Bronson was knocked out in no time, I got worried about the time, we still had twenty minutes left.  But I still had a few things on my list.  We moseyed back to the lone tree, lined up facing the estuarium.  PAX then bear crawled to the civil war monument but this time, crawl bear back to the tree.  The PAX grabbed a quick swig of cold water.  Then I wanted to change it up even more, we did the Dragon Walk back to the civil war monument.  Then we circled back up for a full Circle of Mary.  Remaining eleven PAX came up with a Mary as we went around the circle.  I finished Mary, with a super easy thing I picked up from when I went to Cary.  It was called Have a Good Morning.  We laid on our back, with our arms spread out beside us.  Took a minute to breathe and reflect on ourselves, and how we could strive to make ourselves better. And done!

Two FNGs named: The Shocker, and Woody.  Welcome!

Announcements:

  • Reminder was given about event scheduling for the week.
  • After we dismissed, there was talk of a possible 2.0 event, to occur here next Saturday, the 30th. Keep an eye out for more about that!

COT:

  • Prayers for myself, Big Al’s family, and Matlock’s mother

Moleskin:

I have recently tried to start pushing myself harder, and work on my running.  I’ve been struggling with it.  I really appreciate those that have stayed behind with me and helped push me.  In hindsight of this workout, I realize that I should have increased the distances or occurrences, to be able to push myself and the other PAX.  Each day is a learning experience, and a struggle to be better than you were the day before!
