Let YHC set the stage for you: Candy Cane originally had the Q today at #Westsidestory. Unfortunately, he was unable to Q due to his 2.0 recovering from tonsil surgery. Candy Cane sent a message in the West Side slack channel asking if someone could take the Q for him since he wouldn’t be able. YHC saw the post and told him that YHC should be able to take it but had to double check the calendar. Stabler quickly mentioned that he could take it as well. Once YHC saw Stabler’s post, the plan was in motion. YHC messaged Stabler to set up a Co-Q. Boom. A few hours later, Grammar sees the post and mentioned a possible triple Q. Done Deal! The Westside Threesome was born. Stabler, would take the beginning of the workout, Grammar take the middle, and YHC would finish up. Fast forward to today…

YHC, Stabler and Fruity Pebbles all arrived early for an EC ruck. It was raining, but not too bad. Nice and moist conditions, perfect for a threesome beatdown. Around 0515, YHC received the message. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Grammar was not going to be able to make it this morning. He was dog sitting and the dog had a rough night, causing Grammar to get 0 hours of sleep. YHC told Stabler the bad news, and Fruity Pebbles quickly volunteered to step in, saving the triple Q! After EC, we returned to the flag to see 8 total PAX, ready for a beatdown, and it went something like this:

WARM UP – NONE

Tha Thang

Stabler

Stabler had the foreplay portion of the WestSide Threesome workout. He gave an intro of the three Qs, short disclaimer and then took off towards the baseball field. No warmup needed when foreplay is involved! Lots of mumblechatter on the mosey to the ballfield with how muddy the conditions were and how the pavement looked better but Stabler had a plan and stuck with it.

At home plate, Stabler said we would be playing a little bear crawl baseball. PAX would bear crawl to 1st base and perform 15 merkins. Bear crawl to 2nd base and perform 15 werkins. Bear crawl to 3rd base and perform 15 diamond merkins. Then bear crawl to home plate for 15 Catalina wine mixers. Stabler typically sticks with the number 11 for reps, but changed things up to 15 in honor of the 15-0 victory Aycock Middle had over Hope Middle in the Pitt County Middle School Championship last season… especially for Grammar!

Next PAX would partner up. Partner A would run to the outfield foul pole while Partner B performed People’s Chair. Partners would flapjack. Next, Partner A would run back to the foul pole while partner B performed Balls to the Wall. Partners flapjacked.

Foreplay was over and Stabler handed off to Fruity Pebbles, who filed in for Grammar.

Fruity Pebbles

Fruity instructed the PAX to mosey to the parking lot and line up by the building. First, we did suicides, with burpees at each stop. There were three sections of the parking lot and FP instructed that at the first stop we would perform 1 burpee, 2nd stop would be 2 burpees, and third stop would be 3 burpees. Once we got to the end of the parking lot, we would have to bear crawl to the fence and perform 4 burpees. The kicker: You had to stop at each location as you did your suicides. For example: run to first stop, 1 burpee, run back. Run to the 2nd stop, stop at 1st stop and do 1 burpee, then finish run to the 2nd stop and do 2 burpees, etc.

Once completed, FP instructed for the PAX to partner up for some Catch me if you can around the building. Partner 1 would run backwards while partner 2 would do 3 burpees and then run to catch partner 1. Flapjack, until we returned to the starting point. Rinse and repeat, but this time with Squats instead of burpees, and a mosey instead of running backward. Once we returned to the starting point, it was time for the “money shot”, and FP passed the torch to Chimi.

Chimichanga

Follow me to the playground. YHC instructed the PAX to partner up one last time for several rounds with “Cindy”.

Partner A would start performing the Cindy workout: 5 pull ups, 10 merkins, 15 squats, AMRAP, while partner B would karaoke the length of the parking lot and back. Then flapjack. In order to make sure all PAX got several rounds with Cindy, we repeated this 5-6 times, which took us to 0615. Lot’s of inappropriate mumblechatter during this portion…

This ended up being a lot of fun. Not ideal conditions, and having to make a substitution presented some challenges, but all the Q’s and the PAX did awesome today. This is what F3 is all about. When a brother needs to be picked up, there’s always 3 or 4 PAX right there to help. Stabler posted the perfect picture in the Westside slack channel when Candy Cane thanked us for stepping up. It was a picture of an elf propping up a Candy Cane that had fallen. And then when Grammar notified us that he wasn’t going to be able to make it, Fruity Pebbles was right there ready to step up. Iron sharpens Iron!

Thanks to Fruity Pebbles for hosting the first Triple Q! There WILL be more of these coming to an AO near YOU! Stay tuned! Until next time…

Chimi/Stabler/FP OUT!
