Before the workout 11 of us got in 3.7 miles of Ruck EC.

It’s been a while since we stuck around the AO at #116.  We usually ruck off to other locations for our beat downs.  So I thought we should spend a little time at the home front and play in the yard some.

We started off with some warm up exercises: SSH IC 20 reps, Arm Circles front and back IC 10 reps each way and cotton pickers IC 10 reps.

The workout started in the front yard of Third Street School with 7’s consisting of Merkins at flag and bear crawl to tree for squats and crabwalk back until complete.

I then got two volunteers and one draftee to lead an exercise as we got miles around town.  I asked the volunteers their favorite exercise.  We associated that exercise with their name for the rest of the workout.  Volunteers were Patch who chose the Catalina wine mixer, Stabler who chose the Burpee and my draftee (I had a plan with this one) was Lynard Skynyrd who would be the shuffle.

As we rucked YHC would call out the name of the volunteer and they would lead us in as many reps of their exercise as they felt appropriate (they did not take it easy on us).  Of course Lynard’s name was called at the base of the nipple for an invigorating shuffle up the hill.

We got back to the flag with a little time to spare so we circled up and planked while each took turns Pax running to the pull up bar and did one ruck on pull up and ran back.

This was a fun experiment akin to Pavlov’s dogs.  If you happen to call out Patch, Stabler or Lynard Skynyrd around these Pax anytime soon don’t be surprised if they drop and give you a Catalina Wine Mixer, Burpee or start shuffling.
