Other than convergences or kettlebells at Boyd Lee Beatdown, the mothership (Boyd Lee Park) is not an AO YHC frequents regularly.  Redbox Q’ed #theschoolyard when YHC asked him though (& it was not an AO he frequented routinely either); so when he asked YHC to Q you do as you should and say ‘Yes’.  The date came, ready or not, this is what went down…

For warmups, we partnered up…while partner 1 moseyed around the gym/office building, partner 2 did 5 burpees, 10 merkins, & 15 Mtn Climbers (2 is 1)…once partner 1 returned – switch and repeat.

Then we Indian ran half the lap around the park around to the beach volleyball courts.  There we stopped for 5 more burpees, 10 more merkins and 15 more Mtn Climbers (2 is 1).  From here we moseyed down to the bleachers between the 2 softball fields for a round of dips.  Starting at the bottom of the bleachers we did 10 dips and then moved up a row for another 10 dips and continued to move up the bleachers doing 10 dips at each level (4 or 5 levels all told).  After dips we rinsed and repeated but this time by doing Irkins.  Following the fun at the bleachers we moseyed back to the volleyball courts to continue and finish a lap around the park by way of the Indian run.  Once back to the parking lot, we detoured to the circle at the entrance of the gym/office bldg.  On the curb of the circle we did ‘plank walks’ with merkins in between the ‘walk steps’ all the way around the circle.  From there we moseyed to the picnic shelter for 2 rounds of super step ups with high knees, table top sit ups, and American hammers.  From the picnic shelter we moseyed to the rock pile.  Each picked a rock of their choice.  Once YHC saw the rock Redbox picked it was a quick instinctive decision to plan to keep the rock each picked.  With the rocks we did 3 rounds of curls for the girls and overhead triceps extensions, followed by 2 rounds of overhead (w/rock) flutter kicks and American hammers (with or w/out rock, PAX choice).  Finally, we moseyed to the wall of the gym for 10-count BTTW, 6-count BTTW chicken peckers (shoulder taps) and 10-count peoples chair with arms up/Hallelujahs.

With minutes to spare we returned to the shovel flag, circled up and commenced with a cool down.  YHC started the round of mary by doing 1/2 that of the warm-ups: 2.5 burpees, the .5 burpee lead into the 5 merkins, and 7 4-count Mtn climbers.  Then PAX lead us in a mary of their choice, if YHC recalls correctly, we did V-ups (Haavaad), LBCs (Stern), box cutters (Chicken Wang), 6-inches (Redbox) … 0615, Recover.

COT: praise for FNG – HighTower getting up and showing up…Stern had been encouraging Bill to do so for several weeks and today was the day.  Prayers for Haavaad’s daughter, grief stricken from miscarriage and lingering medical concern of a cyst on one of her ovaries.
