Honestly, YHC didn’t know who would show up at Blastoff this morning. There are always a few studs who HC and because of the approaching Tropical Depression Sally and all the other dang Qs who did the IPC early this week, it was a crap shoot this morning on who would show. Cold Cut was there early for EC. String Bean was our proctor and got in a 5k before hand. In all, 12 studs posted for what was a brutally simple Iron Pax Week 3 Beatdown. It was called KISS – YHC called it Occam’s Razor. Here’s how it went down:

Iron Pax Week 3 Challenge:

  • Run 400m
  • 100 merkins
  • Run 400m
  • 90 squats
  • Run 400m
  • 80 merkins
  • Run 400m
  • 70 squats
  • Run 400m
  • 60 merkins
  • Run 400m
  • 50 squats
  • Run 400m
  • 40 merkins
  • Run 400m
  • 30 squats
  • Run 400m
  • 20 merkins
  • Run 400m
  • 10 squats
  • ***Run 800m***

In all times, ranged from 38:16 to 51:34 for one stud who started early. We ran in the last guy who put in a good time. To be honest, form was not a point of emphasis, so no video was taken and no 1/2 naked men were posed. Today was about doing the difficult thing and having fun while doing it – kind of Tom Sawyer style.

BOM/COT – Prayers were captured for Aquaman’s mom who is in hospice, the family of   Aquamans friend who died too young, Aquaman’s boys, and his ex-wife who is going through a tough time.

Moleskin: Today’s workout was KISS – Run 400m, do Merkins, do Squats. That is what made it tough. Sometimes just saying the simple thing is the right thing to say – that is Occam’s Razor, “the simplest explanation is most likely the right one.” That is what happens when the COT really works – men need a Ball of Man to be vulnerable in a Circle of Trust.

When a man is facing the pending death of a mother or loved one – it sucks. When a man has a good friend who it too young die too early – it sucks. When a man knows that the legal battle to do what is right for his kids is going to be long, hard, and expensive – it sucks. Occam’s Razor means that sometimes life freakin’ sucks.

The COT is important in a man’s life because we have a belief of NoOYO – No On Your Own. Men need to be vulnerable. We need to shoulder each other’s burdens. We need our eyes to sweat a little when a brother is overwhelmed with stress and death, and dying, and life when it sucks. However, it is never to be done alone.

Sometimes life freakin’ sucks – that is why we have the COT. That is the most simple answer I can give to a brother. That is my Occam’s Razor for today.
