The gathering of the Eastern Fleet conveined on a not so gloomy morning. All the pax gathered for a disclaimer and welcome statement from the previous ENC Nantan’s Bono and Tonka. At this point it was time for the men to leave the women and children here in the park and move on to more manly things.

Thang:

We were pretty warm so no warm up necessary, I mean the sun was out so it must have been a solid 35 degrees.

Pax were split into 5 boat crews, each crew was given a sandbag and another coupon that could possibly be found on a ship of the fleet. Coupons as follows.

CMU, Ammo Cans, A rope, Bucket with 40 lbs of sand and a water can were the implements. (just a note rope could not be just carried, each pack had to have a hold of the rope.

Well once divided pax were instructed to ruck to The Storm AO. Crews were also told that making it there first would be of benefit. Team 4 arrived first and was able to drop coupons and circle back to the 6. From here the pax were to keep in their boat crews to complete the following as a crew.

50 yard down and back bear crawl

50 yard down and back sandbag toss

100 burpees

100 4 count flutter kicks

100 lunges (1 is 1)

50 sandbag cleans

Again boat crew 4 was the first to finish this task (can’t hurt boat crew 4…if you know you know).

Next the pax circled up to complete Great Harvest call out challenge for suicide awareness and did 28 merkins. However these pax choose the harder thing and left our rucks on.

Next the winners were able to choose their coupon and the pax were instructed to go to the top of the fourth street parking garage. Again the winning crew would have their choice. This time crew 2 arrived first. At the top of the parking deck the pax completed 50 reps of the following exercises:

4 count mountain climbers

Squats

Ruck Curls

Ruck Tricep Extensions

Alas are time was short so we rucked our crews back down the parking garage. Once arriving at the Town Commons we had a couple of minutes to spare so we completed 50 flutter kicks (4 count) courtesy of Spinal Tap. 20 Hillbillies and 5 burpees OYO.

Mash Monday morning: Cheetah on the Q

Moleskin: It was great to see everyone show up this morning. It has been a long time since we had such a large number of PAX. In all actuality In my mind it has been at least 2 years since we had a number this high. I appreciate all those that chose the harder thing and put that ruck on…I mean there were some that too rucks off but I won’t get into that. Never the less strong work men.

This gathering needs to signal a course adjustment in the eastern fleet. Currently there are bits and pieces that have been coordinating to share information to advance our region. There is opportunity to make this an all out regional push for leadership not only in fitness but in all aspects. As we say better father, better husband, better coworker, better neighbor, better part of our community. Remember always better together!

Ma Bell Out!
