The 2021 Rucking Challenge for January had it’s second go-around, well actually third if you count Skynyrd’s last minute Sunday ruck. 12 PAX met at the Starbucks on Greenville Blvd at 0500. The same two 10 mile loops were mapped out, allowing those PAX who just wanted to do 10 miles the opportunity to get back to Starbucks. It allowed the rest of the PAX to reload and get more food/water before the next 10 mile loop. 12 PAX did the first 10 mile loop which consisted of a trip downtown, through the Town Commons then through Brook Valley and Tucker before getting back to Starbucks.

We lost Corncrake, Stern, Ricky Bobby, Underdog and Grisham after the first loop. Major T-Claps to Ricky Bobby (and his 2.0) who came in clutch and ran support for us after the 2nd and final loop. 7 PAX headed out for the next 10 mile loop which took us through Bedford/Lynndale and over to Paramore Park, then through Club Pines. We lost Skynyrd right at Hooker Rd as he had a birthday party to attend. Back to Starbucks where we clocked in at 20.20 miles so the first challenge was complete. Joe Friday was so stoked on that number, he went right to his truck and put on his 20.21 patch!

The last 6 miles for the remaining 6 PAX took us down Charles Blvd towards Downtown where we got onto Reade Circle and then on Evans. R ight hand turn onto 10th and we made our way up the nipple. Over the nipple to Dickenson, then a right onto Evans and a left onto Arlington and then the final push to Starbucks. Hit 26.2 in the parking lot!

3 PAX completed the marathon ruck for the first time; Haavaad, Silverado and Joe Friday… Major T-Claps to those PAX for pushing through the pain and T-Claps to the rest of the crew that pushed them the entire way home! After, we celebrated with some cold brews and basically tailgated for a little bit — sure highly illegal in that parking lot but still fun!

Great day overall and great completing such a challenge with your brothers! Until next time…

Stabler Out
