The morning started with a weird light crossing the park and we assumed it was Oxy walking over from his house. It ended being CrunchGru (sp?) from F3 Cape Fear. He is crossing the state on a mountains to sea trek and had arrived in kinston yesterday via kayak, stayed at the Nature Center campground and walked 1.5 hours to post. Don’t worry Runt drove him back. I hope he enjoyed this workout as it combined Rucking with some boot camp.

Warm-up

Inchworms across parking lot with Ruck

Worlds Greatest Stretch back across lot
Toy Soldiers Across lot both without Rucks

Ruck sacks on

Count off 1-2, formed two lines and kept a steady pace up the road to 258 and back. Adjusting pace to keep the group together.

The THANG

Cones in outfield to mimic the bases (Infield is already groomed for a weekend tourney and don’t want to mess it up)

2 teams. Roll dice at home plate, multiply/add the numbers for number of reps at each base and number of step-ups. Team 1 will round the bases first:

Shuffle to 1st–merkins (one is one)

Bear Crawl to 2nd–Squats (one is one)

Bear Crawl to 3rd–Flutter kicks holding ruck over chest IC

Shuffle home with ruck fully on

Team 2 goes to batting cages for step ups (step up with right, high knee with left, back down and switch; both legs is one), shuffle around cage, repeat twice. The step-ups are to honor Chad Wilkinson who took his own life after a long personal struggle with the effects from his Navy Seal days. The Chad 1000x is coming up around Veterans Day is a challenge that all can choose to participate in.

First full team back to home is the winner, loser does 5 reps of winning team’s choosing.  Switch and repeat as many times as time allows. We completed two complete cycles with a tie the first time, and Team 2 won the other 3 with the following 5 reps for the losers- monkey humpers (“oh yeahs” for the count), jump squats and LBCs holding rucks. The winner graciously joined in each time.

For cool down, we stayed in our groups and rucked foul pole with one team along the outfield fence and the other along the temporary fence mid way and switched to return to the flag. Teams stayed together adjusting pace as needed and matching the pace from both teams.
