The addition of Watchtower AO has been an exciting and needed addition in my opinion. Because it fits into the purpose of acceleration. This workout was not all the nostalgia, comedy, fun and games of the other workouts on this date. We had one goal…PUT IN WORK! And here is how it went down.
Warm Up: (Rucks Off)
Side straddle Hops x 20 IC

The Thang:
The plan was to perform 3 rounds of the following exercises in the 20-15-10 reps per round. Well after the first 4 exercises YHC made the change. So we completed the following with rucks and sandbags unless noted:
Squat
Row
Merkin
Deadlift
WW2: Sandbag only
Lunge
Tricep extension
Mountain Climber
Clean
Flutter Kick: Sandbag only
Bear hug squats
Curl

Snatch (I guess I went with GTO on this one)

After competing this series we rucked with our sandbag on our back to the stadium entrance. We then returned to the start point with sandbag in the front rack position.
After reaching the start point we repeated the above exercise sequence minus the burpee’s (I think I saw Grout shed a tear on this one). Fear not we would make up for it. We then rucked with our sandbags halfway to the stadium entrance with our sandbag in a baby carry position and returned to the start point with our sandbag in a farmer carry position.
We had time for one more exercise sequence and YHC knew just what to do. Five reps of the following:

Well at the completion of this we still had a few seconds till 6:15 so we attempted a few merkins to finish out the time..

The start of the #Watchtower AO has been a scenerio that has been contemplated for a few years. From the times of Pied Piper, See Through, Jock Itch, Fertile and myself meeting in front First Christian Church in the snow a few years ago. This is something that took place in small groups at different AO and parking lots all over Greenville intermittently through that whole time span. There have been countless pax involved in the past…well the time has come. Those pop up workouts were put in place to prepare for upcoming events well there is merit to this method and it is helpful in the short term. Well gents we put this plan into action to avoid the “I’ve gotta get ready for an event mentality”. This is to aid pax to be ready…always. You never know when you will encounter a battle either physically or mentally so you need be in a constant state of readiness. You never know when it will be your turn to stand watch, your turn to step up, whether it be for your self, family friends or others. So always be ready to stand watch. #Watchtower
