A thick and gloomy morning could not stop 17 HIM from getting after it. After a brief warm up, the Q led the PAX around for a site seeing tour that included a bit of work along the way. All ran right at 3.0 miles, burned a calorie or 500 of them, and were glad to get back to the flag without becoming a casualty. Blessings to have the support and push from 16 brothers, and more importantly to have (constantly and consistently) men on the left and right to help carry the load (whatever the load may be). Patch, Hot Shot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stabler, and Candy Cane (CC was a late arrival says another brother).

YHC’s brothers are like weather proof clothing (think of an umbrella or a rain jacket)…just like an umbrella keeps us dry in the rain, our brothers shield one another from the harsh environments weather (i.e. LIFE) can create…meaning LIFE, difficulty is coming, it is inevitable, it is going to happen – how can one be ready for it? In this case, acquire the correct gear and provide another man with the correct gear… in other words ***know your brother and be known by your brother!*** Protect one another, lock shields, and navigate the storms with your fellow HIM! #NOOYO!!

Warm Up

  • High Knees – IC 30 – 4-count
  • Big Arm Circles – IC 10 (5 front then 5 back) – 4-count
  • Seal Jacks – IC 25 – 4-count (while Stabler provided seal like sounds)

Thang

  • Follow the Q to top of College Hill
    • 20 dips and 20 steps ups (each leg), planking for the six
  • Run to detour sign and back (near mid way point down the hill)
    • 20 merkins and 20 jump squats, planking for the six
  • Mosey to Science/Technology Building staircases
    • Lined up shoulder to shoulder for a 1, 2, 1, 2…count off.
    • Two groups started at opposite ends of the building, raced up and down both stairwells. Team 1 may or may not have started early…yet they did finish 1st! The air was thick in there…
  • Mosey to lit up steps at the new student center…mumblechatter started picking up “hey Q the flag is that way, not this way” and if you didn’t know ruckers love running
    • 10 burpees at the bottom of steps and 10 burpees at the top
  • With heart rates elevated and sweat dripping we had 9 minutes to get back to the flag, that was just under a mile away. All made it back by 6:16. Cheetah showed Matlock why he is Cheetah in a jailbreak to the flag.
