Is great to be back in the gloom and thanks to Panther, YHC had the added bonus of getting to Q at MASH and leading the PAX who Got Up & Showed up.  They were, in no particular order, listed above in alphabetical order.  Have great respect for all the PAX (those present as well as absent from MASH this gloom), so leading is humbling in any gloom.  Nevertheless, introduction/disclaimer given (and amended for this pandemic time in our lives)

Given the hiatus from the AOs, due to the coronavirus, YHC has been negligent in continuing to push the rock.  In part, due to resting a knee and then, of late, a lower back injury.  So, wasn’t sure what to do for a weinke,  or rather what “I” would be able to do.  Thinking and concerned about, “you can’t Q it, if you can’t do it”.  Decided to not overthink it and ended up leaning on the PAX who head locked me, Stern.  I went back to my FNG backblast, which Stern Q’ed, and used it for a weinke (making minor modifications to account for social distancing workout dynamics, of course).

YHC believes we all remember well our own FNG introduction to F3 ENC.  That being shared, the notion behind “borrowing” Stern’s prior backblast to use as the weinke was to see how well i’d fair today as compared to YHC’s recollection of the very beginning of it all for himself.  Afterall, it has been too many weeks w/out consistent workouts and only yard work to claim for much, if any, physical activity.  Here’s how the MASH rerun/reenactment went down:

WarmUps – 20 Punch Jacks, 15 Mtn Climbers, 10 Carolina Dry Docks, 5 High Knees, and 1 Burpee (for fun as Stern claimed and titled the backblast of YHC’s FNG day)

The Thang –

Stop One: For five rounds – 10 merkins; 20 LBC, and 30 plank jacks then run the width of the parking lot (from Flag area side to stop sign near Railroad tracks (had been the Murphy steps on the FNG morn)); rinse and repeat but increasing the number of laps of the parking lot run based on the number round we were on.

Stop Two:  Mosey to the meadow.  Burpees and bear crawl/crab walk (PAX choice).  Bear crawl and/or crab walk the meadow stopping at each of the five trees and doing one burpee at tree one, two burpees at tree two and so on until you get to tree five and the sidewalk

Stop Three:  Minges pool wall for BTTW and WWI.  With 5 PAX lined up against  the wall (and spaced a part appropriately so for social distancing considerations) the first PAX leading us in 10 seconds of BTTW and the next with 10 WWI and so on until the end.  We did this down the line and then back again to who we started with.

Stop Four:  Bus stop at the bottom of Minges.  Partner up (NOPE! This is 2020 and we’re experiencing a global pandemic, thus no partner work) for catch me if you can to the top of the parking lot (up Charles Blvd) One partner runs, one does a burpee and then catches partner and switch until to the top.  SO, what had really happen was…instead of an actual partner run, we ran the length of the parking lot, stopping at each parking lot light to do a burpee (again, for fun).  (“following the light is always a good partner, right?”)

Stop Five: Tennis Courts (NOPE again, the tennis courts were closed, evidently Charlie Brown is prepping for the long awaited resurfacing, I hope).  So, instead of 4 corners increasing the reps in each corner starting with 5, 10, 15 and then 20 of merkins and WWI (also do one burpee for fun at the end in each corner).  We took advantage of the hill adjacent to the courts.  From there we did the “4 corners” by way of spacing out appropriately and running up the hill, reps of exercises at top, and back down to bottom of the hill for a burpee (for fun, right?).  Rinsed and repeated for reps of 10, 15, and finally 20 after knocking out he first round of 5.

Stop Six:  Back to the flag for one burpee for fun. – Here, YHC (literally) forgot the 1 burpee for fun, but instead we did an ode to Panther with a quick cool down stretch in the less than a minute remaining.  Downward dog first, then alternating flexing the knees in to get an even better stretch.  Upon transitioning to start a few J Lo’s time was up so we recovered for Countarama, Namearama, Prayer concerns, Praises, and Announcements.

5 PAX accounted for.  Names cited above.

Prayers/Praises/Announcements: Jaime Satterwhite (Coldcut’s niece) completes radiation tomorrow.  Celebration at Eagle’s Ridge tomorrow in the gloom as Coldcut has the Q.  Continued prayers asked for YHC’s Dad.  Doctors are moving forward with prelim surgery set of tests.  Thereafter, date will be scheduled.  All were glad to be back in the gloom, for those who kept on keeping on, they too were glad to be doing so again with the F3 brotherhood.  Echo’ed the F3Nation PAX’s shared words of “learning (and practicing) to disagree without being disagreeable”.

Moleskin: Fared better than expected this time around.  The FNG gloom was something else.  Had asked Stern “What’s F3?” and he was kind enough to share as well as gradually head lock me.  He explained about the workouts, but knew well enough to let YHC discover the rest, personally, in time.  Still amazed by it all and thankful all the same.

See you all soon in the gloom.  Until then and even then, stay safe!

Slalom out.
