Line up by age, count of to make 4 teams

Each team grab a 60# sandbag and follow me to the field.

Sandbag Relay

  • PAX take turns Clean, Squat, Press the sandbag forward down and back (about 100 yards)

Rotate to the left (since not all the sandbags were equal)

  • Clean, Squat, Press again

Rotate to the left

  • Side toss

It was at this point that Patch hurt his elbow and so I decided it was time to move on to something else.

Bono and Ma Bell demoed the spin move technique of transferring a sandbag. With GrowRuck 17 this weekend and several PAX going, I wanted them to get some practice in transferring a sandbag on the move.

We rucked in formation with our teams of 4/5 and transferred the sandbags back and forth (based on the team’s rotation timing) and met back at the flag at 6:10 (about 2 miles were covered by all). At this point we were going to use the last 5 minutes for some Turkish Get Ups (TGUs) with our rucks and I was going to challenge some PAX to do them with the ruck on their back and sandbag on their shoulder. Bono had other plans and we rucked in formation to get a nice video to plug up GrowRuck with the sunrise in the background.

Prayer Requests: praise for getting heat fixed, Piper’s father in-law’s heart condition, Cousteau’s brother’s surgery, Bench’s mom, Patch’s elbow, Ma Bell’s wife’s aunt’s toe, GrowRuck 17

Moleskin: I don’t make it out to Ruck Ready often, but when I do, I have a killer time. Thanks BJ for getting me out there. It has been too long.
