The Thang

Run South on Elm Street towards 14th St., once there complete 8 Merkins.  Run to Gateway (Belk) Dorm, Run North on College Hill, turn left on 10th st., Run South on Rock Spring Rd., once at 14th st., perform 8 Merkins.  Run to Gateway Dorm again, turn left and go North on College Hill, turn right at bottom towards Elm St. Take a right and head South to 14th.

Rinse and Repeat.

I had a goal to run the PAX as far as I could within the allotted time.  I wanted everyone to set new mileage records at RunStrong and I was sure everyone could get between 4-5 miles and complete 32 Merkins.  It made perfect sense.  I was so excited to see the figure 8 on my Strava app when I was complete.

Here’s the lesson, I didn’t inform the PAX to come back for the six at the bottom of college hill each time around, soooooo, we got strung out.  I did go back a couple of times and everyone had a partner, but I should have had specific directions when to come back for the PAX.  Leave no man behind.

The bright side, we got great mileage and a few laughs wondering where Underdog and Spaulding  had gone…
