A Magnificent 7 ENC studs posted this morning at The Collard Patch to welcome in a new week. For some reason, YHC heard a video of Miley Cyrus singing Zombie by the Cranberries, so we played their songs in the whole time. Grammar is too young to remember the Cranberries. Here’s how it went down.

Warm-Up: YHC believes a warm-up is best done while warm, which means running needs to be incorporated into the warm-up. We did the following around the Ayden path: Follow Me; Burpeees, SSH, Merkins, Squats.

The Thang: A real friend seriously asked if this workout was going to be difficult. That made me chuckle softly and grin. Life is difficult. Burpees are difficult. So are 8-count Body Builders. So we did those in a ladder. Burpees up. Body Builders down. The count was hidden from the pax to create a bit of the unknown. The Q did 10,15,20,20,15,10 reps.

Next we moseyed to the football field and completed a little diddie modified from Sea Bass at GrowRuck Louisville. We lined up on one sideline and did 10 burpees. Then ran to the other side and did 10 jump squats. The Q aimed to complete 5 rounds.

One life lesson from the Joe Warner Heavy in 2017 is “It pays to win.” You also quickly learned not to piss off Cadre Dan. This is a series of animal crawls. We completed bear crawls, crab walks, duck walks, gator crawls, and other fun exercises around the Ayden walking trail. When we pissed off Cadre Dan during the 12-mile ruck it was not fun. At one point he actually said 12 straight words before letting out an F-bomb.

COP: The Circle of Pain is always a great way to close a workout. Men is a circle have to be more accountable. If you modify, that is fine. Just put in the work, sweat hard, and don’t short change a rep. We did some of the following: Sun Goddess(forward, static, backwards arm circles); Wimpie Legs (Jump squats, Jump Lunges, Donkey Kicks); and Jack Webb (Merkins/hallelujah 1:4)

BOM/COT: Prayers for Aquamans son and whatever is going on with this son’s mom. Prayers for Jackpot. Prayers for the man who had a heart attack at the gym and the three young men who saved his life.

Moleskin: Today was a gloomy day, which is perfect F3 weather, because the Gloom belongs to us. It was neat to see Permit drive up about 5:07 when YHC was getting out of the car. Turns out it’s quicker to get to Ayden than K-Town. It was neat hanging afterwards with Soundbyte and Jackpot talking Apple Watches and church video.  It turns out that a Grammar and Rafiki carpool makes for a tough set of studs. YHC knew we had to kick it up a notch when they rolled in. Aquaman promised to do an impression of Fat Thor but instead it was a steady stud. We love that man and can only stand by him as he looks for strength for things beyond his control. He stands strong for the boys he loves and we stand by him because we love him. Today was a great day to conquer the gloom.
