Little Mermaid asked me to Q at the School Yard several months back but with some recent events with my work schedule, I had to postpone that Q opportunity due to travel so once Slalom took over as site Q, he reached out to YHC to get back on the schedule. Always willing to step-up and Q, especially for a new site Q! Arrived to the School Yard a little before 0440 for an EC Ruck. 7 PAX got in 2.5 miles; YHC, Patch, Cold-Cut, Ratched (with a D), Haavaad, Noonan and Show Boat. Got back to the flag a little before 0530 and had 9 more PAX ready to welcome back Stabler to The School Yard. No FNGs so quick disclaimer given and right at it…

Warm Up

  • Good Mornings x11 IC
  • SSH x11 IC
  • Butt Kickers x11 IC
  • Michael Phelps x 11 IC

The Thang

Took off on a short Indian Run and ended up at the circle driveway at Oakmont Church. PAX would partner up. Partner A would start a series of AMRAP exercises while Partner B would bear crawl (surprise… surprise) around the entire circle. Once partner B got back to the starting point, partners would flapjack. The 4 rounds of AMRAP exercises included; Burpees, Diamond Merkins, LBCs and Jump Squats. With Spinal Tap posting, YHC did call a quick audible strictly for entertainment purposes… instead of bear crawling the last circle, PAX would crab walk instead, in honor of Tap’s favorite exercise! Al Gore for the six.

Lots of mumble chatter during this exercise about knocking about the bear crawl early in the workout but YHC warned the PAX that this was only a warmup for the bear! Indian Run back to Aycock and met in the endzone of the football field. Starting at the goal line, PAX would bear crawl 10 yards, where they would perform 10 LBCs. Then they would bear crawl another 10 yards, this time doing 20 LBCs. PAX would do this all the way to the other endzone, adding 10 LBCs to the previous total every 10 yards. The field was not marked so I’m sure everyone got different numbers but YHC totaled 360 LBCs.

Once PAX arrived at the opposite endzone, they would crawl bear to the 50 yard line, where they would perform 50 squats. After the squats, a quick jog to the endzone. 0615 was upon us so back to the flag for the COT.

Moleskin

YHC has always enjoyed posting at the School Yard but with some recent changes at work, Wednesdays have proved to be a travel day making it difficult to post. Was glad to be able to post and provide the PAX with a quality beatdown with a little bear mixed in. Slalom has done a great job with continuing the momentum and growth of this site that Mermaid started. 16 PAX posting on a Wednesday was great to see. Keep up the good work Slalom! Until next time…
