I asked Beer Garden to Q today in memory of my father’s 83rd birthday.  Here is how it went down:

Week two of Gravity’s Workout recreated at the School Yard

Pledge

Warm-up-O-rama

  • 5 SSHs IC + 5 Burpees OYO
    • 5 Rounds
  • 10 Michael Phelps

The Thang

Mosey to the Hill for Old School Sevens

  • Merkins at the bottom and Squats at the top

Mosey to the bleachers *This is where the audibles began*

  • Audible #1
    • Step-ups on Bleachers (Bleachers were wet.  We are ok with stupid, but not to the point of injury.  Let’s stop with this.)
    • Animal Crossings on the football field
      • Bear Crawls to the middle of the field
      • Elephant Lunges back to the track (PAX question: “what happens if your trunk drags during the lunge”.  Answer: You get T-Claps because that is impressive.)
      • Bunny Hops to the middle of the field
      • Bear Crawls back to the track
  • Audible #2
    • Doras
    • 1st partner completes reps while the other runs to the middle of the field and back
      • 100 Carolina Dry Docks
      • 150 Flutter Kicks (one is one)
      • 200 Merkins
    • Question from Blueprint: “Who pissed you off with these reps.” Truthful reply: No one! YHC is making it up as he goes.

Mosey to the basketball court

  • Audible #3, court is soaked.
    • Head to gravel path for Shuttle Sprints
    • Teams of 4 and 1 Team of 5
      • Sprint from sidewalk to the other side of gravel path and back X2
      • The team needs to have every member complete 10 rounds
    • “What do we when we are not sprinting?” Answer: ENCOURAGE YOUR BROTHERS! Man, did the PAX take that to heart!  Charlie Brown missed his calling as a cheerleader!

PAX then reminds YHC that the workout ends at 6:15 and not 6:30.

Back to the flag.

BOM

  • Spare Change’s Mother
  • New job opportunity for Spare Change
  • Charlie Brown reminds us to reach out to brothers.  There is a lot of baggage and we can help lighten the load.

Moleskin:

The highlight of YHC’s workout was Minnesota Fats.  Not sure if he will ever read this, but this guy is a stud.  He is an encourager and a leader.  During Doras, he put courage into YHC when I was struggling with merkin reps.  When we finished Animal Crossings he yelled out exercises until the 6 was in.  When we were shuttle sprinting he was an encourager to all!  One of YHC’s favorite things in life is when another man takes initiative to do what’s best for all.  Fats, you did this today!  Way to be a HIM!

Other notes of interest: Brass Monkey’s hidden talent is sprinting.  Blueprint has pushed it HARD in his first 2 weeks as a PAX.  I can now answer Cold-Cut’s question with a yes: “Have you met Drone?”
