YHC has owed Nice Body a #TheSummit Q since October.  It was time to pay the piper this morning.  Nice Body and YHC must have had a mind meld going leading up to this workout, as I had planned to give an extended disclaimer, based upon the recent podcast episode discussing running safety.  Nice Body beat me to the punch and discussed respecting traffic, keeping a headcount, etc….he’s a good little Site Q.  YHC has been Jonesing (see what I did there?) for some dry, brisk morning runs, which have been few and far between this “winter”.  The forecast was finally calling for below freezing temps, so I dusted off my new running pants and headed for GVegas.  The first thing I noticed when I got in the car was that the Weather App had failed me again…35 degrees when I left the house.  Nonetheless, Nice Body and YHC gave Skipper a hard time about braving the cold in shorts.  By the time we had gotten our legs moving well, I was wishing I had left my pants in the closet this morning!

We began the run by moseying down towards Summit St., only to turn  around and head back to the AO when we saw Abu peeling in on Strokes time.  We picked him up and headed back towards Summit.  Up Summit, then left on 5th through campus, then right on Maple.  Short run down 10th to College Hill, where YHC had planned to put the PAX through 5 hill repeats with 20 Merkins at the summit of College Hill.  YHC is still trying to gauge his landmarks around GVille time-wise, so we had to shorten our repeats to the crosswalk instead of the traffic light, and we only had time for 3 repeats.  To compensate, we added in AYG pull-ups at the bottom of the hill between the 2nd and 3rd repeats.  We headed up through campus to 5th, then down to Cotanche to head back to the flag right at 0614.

Prayers:  Skipper and his wife, as they travel to Italy, and their children while they are away; praise for successful surgery for Pied Piper, as well as continued prayers for rehab and recovery

Moleskin:  We didn’t really push the pace this morning, nor did we do a ton of hill work, but we had a great conversation.  Running workouts are always better when the PAX can run as a pack.  Abu gave Nice Body and YHC some great tips on managing plantar fasciitis, which will hopefully help both of us continue to get out in the Gloom.
