Got some HCs yesterday at Clydesdales for an EC Ruck at West Side and all 4 HCs showed, including Haavaad who could not stay for the workout but was still dedicated enough to get some miles and also new Rucker, Deep Dish! Logged about 2.6 miles and back to the flag shortly before 0530. 3 more PAX chose the harder thing and decided to post at West Side including our very own Chimichanga, who gave YHC a HC yesterday! No FNGs so short disclaimer and we were off…

The Thang

YHC was happy to be back at West Side since it’s been quite some time that I posted there for one reason or the other. I’m a big fan of the AO and when Pulp asked me to lead, I jumped at the opportunity. And in typical Stabler fashin at West Side, he dusted off the old book of the West Side Chronicles and let the PAX choose their own chapters, and therefore, their own beatdown. YHC called on Pulp for the first chapter and he chose… The Neighborhood. PAX moseyed to the edge of the parking lot near the entrance to the neighborhood. PAX partnered-up for a round on BOMBS. Partner A would begin the exercises and Partner B would run to the first light pole and back. Partner would flapjack until all exercises were completed;

B- 50 Burpees

O- 100 Overhead Claps

M- 150 Merkins

B- 200 Big Boy Sit ups or LBCs

S- 250 Squats

After that long chapter was closed, YHC called on Jackpot for the next chapter as he was a rookie to the “Choose Your Own Adventure Series.” And he chose… The Grass Area. For this chapter, YHC called upon Pulp and Jackpot to serve as team captains. PAX were chosen 0ne by one but the captains had no idea what the contest would be. All they were told was that it would pay to be a winner. After the teams were decided, YHC let the PAX know it would be a relay race. From the curb, PAX would bear crawl to the fence and then crab walk back. If a PAX did not or could not bear crawl or crab walk, they could lunge but with a 10 burpee penalty. Team Pulp (Pulp, Soft Shell, Chimichanga and YHC) edged out Team Jackpot (Backhoe, Deep Dish, Silverado and Jackpot) thanks in large part to a record setting bear crawl performance by Chimichanga. YHC has no idea where that dude has been, but after seeing this display today, I think he has been training with bears. Team Jackpot had to do 30 burpees each (in honor of the great 30 for 30 documentary that aired last night on Al Davis vs the NFL) and the winners had 30 4-count flutter kicks.

Being short on time, YHC called on Chimichanga for the last reading and he chose… The Building. For this chapter the plan was to partner up with the same partner from the first chapter. There would be three rounds; People’s Chair, BTTW and The Samoan Sandwich. One partner would perform the exercise the entire time it took their partner to run around the building. Each partner would perform the exercise before moving onto the next. We all go through People’s Chair but with only 5min left, HC audibled and instead of running the next two rounds, we did BTTW all together with a 10 count by each PAX and then we all did the Samoan Sandwich together with a 6 count by each PAX. Back to the flag at 0615 for COT…
