What an amazing weekend! Yes, YHC (Your Humble Correspondent) posted Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; but as great as those workouts were, the times were even better with brothers away from the workouts!
Friday night, Matlock opened up his home as one of his Christmas gifts from his M (wife)! It was a Soup Party for just the PAX and their M’s! Due to our 2.0 (son’s) basketball game we got there late and left early (due to the long day). The fellowship was awesome at this event; to be able to connect outside of the workout and meet PAX (brothers) M’s is good for us. The food was awesome, about 10 different types of soup plus tons of sides, deserts, etc. YHC explained to his M, that it is important to him that she know the brothers that YHC works out with and their M’s! It was good to have them there and it not just be a night out with the guys. The times with guys are always good, but you can really get to know more about a guy when they are around their M!
Saturday night, YHC opened his home to his BRR (Blue Ridge Relay) team van! The idea derived from some of Bono’s wisdom at QSource (Sunday meeting on how to be leaders)! M’s were invited and food was prepared. It was awesome to have Mr. Belding, his M, and Abu join us (his M and 2.0 had another engagement). The goal was to have all the van mates there, T-Bone and String Bean were missed, but the time we spent together was deep! One of the items on the agenda was to use some of Bono’s Shield Lock questions. YHC had the idea that we would head up to the bonus room away from the M’s. After fellowshipping together for some time, YHC asked if the M’s wanted to join (and they did)! It was a night with a lot of meaning and we look forward to the one next month!
Sunday afternoon, YHC had the opportunity to meet with the Regional Q’s (leaders of different parts of our group)! YHC has been blessed to be a part of this since our inception. Always good to have new blood pumped into the group and see what they can offer. YHC can truly say things are only going to continue to get better and stronger because of these guys! To see and hear the passion about what we are doing, can do, and want to do are exciting!
Because of these events and many other to come, the best is yet to come!!!
