Three PAX arrived at Town Common for this morning’s run. We moseyed over to Third Street Community Center as our warm-up. YHC gave the instruction that we were going to run a fartlek down Third Street until we got to Library Street. On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being recovery and 5 being full sprint, the directions were to run a 1 or 2 on the downhills and a solid 4 on the uphills with a 2 or 3 on the flats. We put in some good work on the rolling hills of Third Street, then we recovered on our way to the bottom of Harding. At the bottom of Harding we chose a light pole to “begin” our hill. From the light pole we ran a full sprint up the hill to the stop sign and recovered back to the pole. Then we shortened the hill by 2 cars and ran it again. Rinse and repeat one more time before moving over to the 2nd Street hill for an up-down-up-down-up and then we went back to the flag the long way through downtown.

It’s always fun to run with Floater and Angus. The two of them have more running knowledge in their old shoes than I do in my entire body, so I always feel like I learn something when I run with either of them. To get to run with both of them at the same time was a real treat.

Prayer

We spent some time thanking God for the chance to run together and for Floater’s daughter and son-in-law moving to Raleigh.
