Calling all ruckers and runners who secretly want to join THE DARKSIDE – 

Come join us for a GORUCK simulation event.  Whether you are dusting off that rucksack in the garage or breaking in that brand new you got for Christmas, this event is for you. This is the 2nd simulation event in a series of 3 that will help to prepare us for the Greenville GORUCK Tough and Light March 9th and 10th. See Thru and myself are honored to have been asked to organize this piece of good livin’.  We will do our best to offer you a glimpse of the fun that is GORUCK.

When: Friday January 12th 9PM until

Where: Greenville Town Commons

What to bring:

  • a rucksack or a backpack
  • a 20 lb. ruck plate or a 30 lb. ruck plate (if you do not know which to go with, always go with the 30 because it is more fun.)
  • WATER BLADDER: one of the most important things besides your ruck.  2 or 3L water bladder is recommended.  Drink lots of water the day/night before to be hydrated.
  • reflective bands if possible on your ruck
  • headlamp mandatory
  • gloves
  • snack or “feel good” treat

 

Fun facts:

  • We would recommend wearing your F3 shoes or rucking boots if you have them.  Lots of miles with weight can wear on your feet quicker than normal so have your feet prepared.  Pay special attention to your socks if you are new to these distances.  An extra pair is always a good idea.
  • Body glide is not a bad idea if you do not like the feeling of sand paper between your legs.
  • Waterproof EVERYTHING in your ruck if possible: dry bag or double/triple zip lock bag items that are a necessity and you don’t want wet.
  • We might recommend leaving your phone and valuables in your car or at home.  You will not want them to get wet….its better safe than sorry.

 

This is NOT your typical F3 workout….it will be roughly 4 hours long with 2 Q’s.  There will be a few different evolutions including but not limited to: marching, coupons, challenges, team building, and problem solving. It will not be easy but it will be rewarding.  This workout is designed to mimic the very suck that is on full display during a GoRuck event.  We will fully commit and entrench ourselves in the very ideals of RUCKERSHIP – (The special brand of Fellowship engendendered by men moving together under ruck.)
