When I was thinking about what to do for this Friday at first aid, I decided to do something with a message behind it, and not just a normal workout. The word progression popped into my mind and that is where it all got started. There is more to come on that later though, but first lets get into the workout.

Warm Up

The Thang

With the theme being progression, I wanted to progress through a movement we do quite often…the burpee.

We started at gate 5 and ran to gate 1 to do 25 Up Downs, then back to gate 5 for 25 more Up Downs. We finished with WW1 Situps for the six.

Same route, this time doing 25 Merkins at gate 1 and gate 5. WW2 Situps for the six.

Another round, 25 Jump Squats at gate 1 and gate 5. Plank for the six.

To complete the progression, we did one final round with 25 Burpees at gate 1 and gate 5. WW1 Situps for the six.

This morning we did different exercises to progress towards a burpee. My question after the workout was what are you progressing towards. Of course, with the first F we are progressing towards better health and better bodies. The second F we progress towards more and better relationships with our F3 brothers. Most importantly though, the third F, we should be progressing in our faith and our daily walk. Papa Smurf is a prime example of progressing in our faith. Though his disease may progress, his faith progresses even more. Faith is what gets us through so many days whether they are good or bad. It is great to come out to the workouts and to build relationships, but if we don’t have faith, we can be totally lost.
