Noonan, Cousteau, Grout and Skynyrd had a freakish start time for EC. They were joined at regular EC time by Patch, Haavaad and YHC and we all logged some miles. Got back to the flag a little before 0515, Grout had to leave but we picked up 4 more PAX for a total of 10 to enjoy the Stabler beatdown. Disclaimer given and then we were off…

Warm-Up (rucks grounded)

– Good Mornings x11 IC

– Michael Phelps x11 IC

– Butt Kickers x11 IC

The Thang

YHC instructed the PAX to get into teams of three (one team would have four)  and for each team to grab a 60# sandbag. Between your team, start down the path and do a lap, ending at the second baseball field. During the lap, the teams would trade-off carrying the sandbag. The two faster teams would circle back for the six.

At the ball field, PAX met at home plate. One team got on the third base line. One team was at home plate and the other was on the first base line. A member of each team would run (with the sandbag) to the outfield fence and back (approximately 320ft each way) while the other members of the team would AMRAP a series of exercises; ruck curls, overhead press, tricep extensions and ruck bench press. Team members would flapjack so two of the teams had members that had to go twice with the sandbag.

We rinsed and repeated this drill but this time using the following exercises; squats, lunges, flutter kicks and mountain climbers.

Now everyone knows that it’s not a true Stabler workout without a little bit of bearcrawl so we stayed in our teams. One by one, each PAX would start at home plate and bearcrawl to either first base, second base or third base and then back home. While their team member bearcrawled, the other members on that team would alternate between BTTW and People’s Chair.

After the bearcrawl fun, YHC instructed the PAX to leave the field and do a little shuffle to the concession stand. At the stand, PAX piled up all the rucks at the end near Noonan and then assumed People’s Chair. Noonan passed the rucks down the line, one by one, until it got to the other end to Rubber Duckie. Then Rubber Duckie passed them back down the line. Only had one dropped ruck which nearly resulted in YHC losing a toe ;)

Mounted back up and got back into our original teams. Had roughly 15min left so we made one more lap around Alice Keen, passing the sandbags with the members of your team. Back to the flag at 0615 for COT.

Moleskin

Great workout today and even better fellowship. Probably wondering why the name of this post was about donuts but there was no mention of donuts above… well somebody brought up the donut and coffee ruck early in the workout and basically during the entire time rucking there was some mention of donuts which made most of us pretty hungry. A few observations by YHC;

– Backhoe thinks Duck Donuts are overpriced

– Haavaad thinks the best thing in the world is a HOT donut from Krispy Kreme

– Patch will be filling his bladder up with coffee on Saturday to save some cash

– Chimi will only be participating on Saturday if Buzz is one of the stops because according to Chimi, they have the best donuts hands down… a true dark horse in the donut game!

Until next time…
