Cousin IT contacted YHC earlier in the week about the possibility of doing my VQ by filling in for him at #Stadium Blast. Fighting back the momentarily temptation to play the “I haven’t been to Q-School” or, “I’m not in shape enough yet to Q” cards, I decided instead to be an ACCELERATING MAN, and go for it without reservation (or purpose of evasion). START EX time was fast approaching and there were no PAX in sight. I was pondering the philosophical question of “If I do a Q with no PAX, did I really Q?” But, just in the nick of time, Aquaman wheeled into a space next to the flag, and I delighted in the fact that I had a witness and didn’t have to CANC. Handshake, exchange of pleasantries, and it was time for the opening pitch. Baseball was on my mind as ECU’s baseball season opener is this Friday afternoon, and while the baseball players were practicing, Aquaman and I were ‘about the business’.

3rd Base: “Climb to Glory”

Run three-story staircase from ground level to pressbox level, stopping topside for 30 LBC’s with feet anchored under railings.

Run back out to stadium front.

Foul Ball: Runners (PAX) RINSE and REPEAT 2nd Base and 3rd Base above.

Heading for Home:
Dips on stadium picnic table seats again, 10+ reps because we can.
Mosey back to unpaved parking lot and our favorite curbs.

7th Inning Stretch: Wheel of Merkin Flashback
Same drill as was done during the “Hit”, but 5 reps at each position concentrating on form – we just couldn’t pass the spot up.

Full Count: Buddy run back to the flag.

The weather was perfect, and it was great exercising with ECU athletes having their practices on the baseball field and soccer field in the AO. I appreciated Aquaman posting today, and tolerating my first Q. We hit END EX a bit early as YHC didn’t have the timing down as well as I thought I did, but we hit it hard without pause or interruption while we were at it. It was great getting to know each other better as we “got ‘er done”.
