9 PAX took Route 66 this cold morning with celebrity workouts. By the end we were howling at the full moon.

Warmup: After disclosure of non professional status PAX advised to modify as needed. Since sprinklers were going strong on the waterfront immediately had to modify to parking lot.

Fire Drill (in observance of Fire Safety month- whatever month that is)

The Thang:

Mosey to start of waterfront walk.

Paula Abduls: Lunge (Zombie) walk two light poles forward, Merkin, then backwards run one light pole. Repeat pattern 1/2 way down waterfront. Looked good on paper, a lot of whining early on. Had to end early.

Good morning Burpees: Instituted along with Paula Abduls. Burpee everytime someone responds to “Good Morning”. Extra credit if they do burpee with you. Some grumbling that PAX may not be sociable anymore.

Route 66: Forward run to light pole, one merkin. Side shuffle to next light pole, 2 Merkins. Backwards run to 3rd lightpole, 3 Merkins. Side shuffle to 4th light pole, 4 Merkins. Pattern continued to 11th light pole. By finish- 66 Merkins.

Dan Taylors: “Lt Dan ain’t got no legs”- we didn’t either after this. 1 squat, 4 lunge steps, 2 squats 8 lunge steps…. Pattern continues increasing squat by one and keeping 1:4 squat to lunge ratio. Ended with jailbreak to gazebo.

Travolta Merkins #12- done to accompaniment of “Stayin’ Alive”

Werewolves: Start with down dog to low plank and up to upward dog. If done quickly it looks like a howling wolf. Great howl participation- most likely caused by huge full moon. Especially enjoyable for NC State crowd!

Abd workout: 6 inch variations- clockface positions

CoolDown: Count-o-rama, Name-o-rama, concerns/celebrations and prayer requests finishing with prayer
