YHC pulled into #116 around 0550 and was worried if any PAX would show for EC with lots of folks gone this weekend. Glad to see Barefoot already there and ready to go. We were joined by 2-Stop who was able to EC but had to leave for work after. Was able to log 3.33 miles during EC. Had a good pace and better mumblechatter. Got back to the flag at 0700 at had Padre and Poppins ready to join the fun. Peace out to 2-Stop and the 4 remaining PAX were ready to roll. No FNGs so short disclaimer and the fun began.

Quick warmup with Good Mornings and Michael Phelps, both x11 IC. YHC informed PAX that his new Salomon XA Pros came in yesterday so it was time to break them in. We grabbed a 60# sandbag and took off but instead of making the usual left turn out of 116, we took a right. Headed down 3rd Street, got on Memorial, then made a right on 5th Street and headed to the Health Sciences Campus. During this stretch, we had a three man rotation on the sandbag. This was a good opportunity for Poppins to learn about the bag; how to carry properly and how to hand-off.

Once we got to the Health Sciences Campus, we circled up in the parking lot for some exercises. One PAX would carry the sandbag roughly 40 yards and back while the other PAX would AMRAP a series of exercises. PAX would take turns choosing exercises and took turns on the sandbag. Each PAX got two reps on the sandbag carry and had a total of eight exercises.

With about 20min left, PAX headed back to the flag via 5th Street and still had the three man rotation on the sandbag. Back to the flag right at 0800 for COT.

Even though we were low on numbers, we logged over 3miles during the workout and for those who EC’d as well, got over 6.5 miles in total. Great mumblechatter and the coupon added some pain to the workout. Thanks to Haavaad for the opportunity to lead! Until next time…

Stabler Out
