The only right way to close this AO was to give everyone one more shot at The Climb. It was a little bit colder than we asked for, but we took a warmup lap around Town Common and I don’t think anybody was feeling too cold once the blood started pumping. Then we moseyed over to the northern end of Summit Street to pick up the beginning of The Climb Strava segment. Directions were given for the route in case anyone hadn’t run it before and we were off in search of spots on the leaderboard. Footloose put his name on the board tying Gazelle for the number 3 spot all time. Matlock put down a strong showing for such a cold morning and YHC, Past Due and Duct Man all set PRs on the segment. Once we recovered at the corner of Harding and 3rd, we took off on 3rd Street heading West for a few more hills. When we reached the bottom of the hill at 3rd and Pitt it was time for a few repeats on the steepest hill downtown. We originally set out to run 3 repeats, but Gazelle and Footloose inspired the rest of us to a 4th round. We returned to Town Common and with a couple minutes remaining we took a trip to the river for a half lap around the park before we closed the AO for good.

It has been an honor to be the Site Q for The Summit. Thanks to everyone who has posted and Q’d through the hills of downtown. We’re all better for having run them. As someone with clinically diagnosable levels of FOMO, I’m looking forward to being re-united with the PAX at RunStrong next Tuesday.
