Battleship asked me to Q for today about 3 weeks ago. I was pumped then and I was pumped today; another day to get better. A little 0420 EC ruck followed by 0510 EC pray first led by Shrimp with a mini PAX of 4. Once 0530 rolled around I was fired up and ready to GET ACTION CAVEMAN STYLE!

Warmup:

5 burpees OYO

10 jump lunges each leg OYO

15 mountain climbers 4-count IC

20 SSH IC

The THAAAAANG:

Explained to the PAX that today we were going to do a little bit of a different workout, caveman style. First thing up, mosey over to the big rock pile and grab a rock (they were warned ahead of time to choose your rock wisely because they were going to become very close to it over the next 45). Mosey to the playground behind the ball fields with your rock.

Here we partnered up to complete a DORA. Once partner would run from the right field corner to the second lightpole behind left field while the other partner was completing the exercise. Oh and you carry your rock when you run and carry your rock when exercising. Plank, superman, and canoe alternating between the three for the six. Tote the rock!

1) 100 lunges each leg

2) 200 LBC’s

3) 300 Hallelujahs

Moseyed on over to the shelter. Don’t forget your rock.

All completed with your best friend. The rock.

1-minute stepups

1-minute squat get-ups

1-minute curls.

Mosey back to the big rock pile, said goodbye to our new close friend, and dropped the rock off. Met back at the flag.

I didn’t know the correct term here, I always called them inch worms. Reach down, touch your toes, and walk your hands out until you’re in the plank positon then do a merkin. Walk back up to your hands and then rinse and repeat. We did this all the way down to a random tree. On the way back, we performed broad jump burpees until we got back to the original tree.   We then moseyed on to the wall.

Peoples Chair 3 sets of 30 seconds each.

1st set: on your toes all 30 seconds

2nd set: stay on your toes but alternating legs (sort of a running motion)

3rd set: bring one leg at a time up to your chest, alternating legs.

Hustled back to the flag with one minute left.

ABC’s

Got on our six, and practiced our spelling. Something we need to work on more often apparently because it did not go smoothly. Got our feet 6 inches of the ground and with me starting with the letter A, went around the circle spelling the letters with our feet. Got to Z and it was 0615 on the dot. STRONG WORK MEN.

Prayer Requests:

Vandalays family with the recent passing of his father.

The family of the little girl who passed away in a car wreck and all that knew her.

Grady’s daughter getting her license.

The child that Shrimp met over the weekend who has cancer as well as his family.

PRAISE:

Bedpans fiancé got into the class she needs.

Grady returning, welcome back brother!

Moleskin: As I was making the workout for the morning late last week I was thinking to myself, “there is no way I would ever do this by myself”. That’s where you guys come in. Knowing that you guys are going to be there to push one another and help each brother get through the beatdown is something special that you can’t get unless you experience it firsthand. I know most of the time when I try to headlock somebody I tend to always start with the fitness aspect of F3. By the end of the conversation I always end up talking more about the fellowship and how it goes beyond improving out bodies physically. It’s surrounding yourself with people who have the same mindset of you that “yeah this is going to suck but we are going to tackle it head on and get better together.” The fellowship that I always have with each man out there is something you can’t really get many other places.   One of my favorite things about beating the fartsack and posting with you guys before the sun comes up is the fact that despite each man’s physical ability, we are going to make sure that each person makes it to 0615 and do it together. I heard a quote a while back that goes “surround yourself with those on the same mission as you.” I truly believe that F3 is a bridge to apply that quote in your life; to provide that opportunity to make each one of us better men, fathers, sons, and leaders.

Until next time, Jock Itch OUT. Oh and ahhhh… GO GET SOME.
