This was the second in 3 installments of Ruck Simulation training in an effort to get the PAX a feel/prepared for the Greenville Go Ruck Tough and Light coming on March 9th and 10th. Piper had ask YHC to help lead this event and with a leader like Piper, the PAX would not be the only one learning during this event. The weather was full rain and it did not disappoint.

The event starting point was at the stage on the town commons. The team leader coupon would be a keg an the team coupon would be the flag. These items, no matter, what would always travel with the PAX.

We gave the PAX the disclaimer and we met the FNG that came with F3 Nahunta.

Piper took the PAX to the stage and his instructions were to break the group into 2 columns on the stage. Once in columns Piper had the Pax crawl in 3 different styles: Bear Crawl, Army Crawl, and Seal Crawl. As one columns crawls the other column was instructed o have ruck sacks over head and could not ruck up till the first launch had reached the designated finished and had their ruck sacks overhead.

After this movement Piper and YHC selected Crankshaft as the nights first Team Leader. His instructions was to lead the PAX to Pipers truck to select two coupons then organize and head to the top level of the parking deck to await further instructions. He had two choices of assent with take the stairs of which he would receive 5 reps of an exercise or ramp of which he would receive 10 reps of an exercise. Crank lead the the team to the top. He selected the stairs and so the excercise would be 5 man makers. The TL was relieved of his duties.

New TL (FNG Matt) was selected and was instructed to retrieve  2 additional coupons that were on the top deck of the parking lot and move the PAX to Ready Mix Concrete to receive further instructions.

Arrived at Ready Mix Concrete with coupons and instructed PAX to line up coupons neatly (was also told the concrete blocks would stay) and the the Welcome Party began. The party was led by YHC and Piper having the PAX circle up with rucks off and in front. The PAX would side bear crawl in a circle until asked to halt where they would put on the ruck in front of them and perform the exercise. The movements were in the Merkin family – from Ranger, Wide Arm, Right_Left Arm out front. Once the welcome party ended. The PAX was allowed to take a break – grab a bite – hydrate and be ready for the next movement.

Joker was selected as the next TL. Instructed to get the PAX back to the commons and find the where the walking paths meet at 5 points. there would be 2 sandbags that – in teams – would needed to be moved to Pipers truck with a side sandbag pass.

We arrived back at Pipers Truck under the time hack. The PAX arranged the coupons again and gather more coupons for our next ruck and a new TL. This time it would be Patch. Our destination would be Beech Street vis the Greenway. we had a time hack so we had to move out. The PAX learned to rotate the coupon thru TL calling the order arrive at the Beech Street. Before TL was relieved of his duties the PAX had to perform one inch worm merkin then TL was relieved of his duties.

New TL would be Ma Bell. Instructions: Ruck to the point where the PAX will find 2 – 55 gallon drums and 10  – 5 gallon buckets (two without handles). Objective: In teams find a water source, with buckets, fill 55 gallon drum once completed then with bucket that has no handle, move it filled with water to the shelter at Green-spring park. It was also shared that it pay to win. The PAX did not know how they would win – but it was the team with the most water in the bucket wth no handle. Losing team had to take the rucks from the winning team . then the PAX did Big Step ups on the picnic tables. TL was relieved of his duties.

New TL would be Tonka. He was instructed to move the PAX quickly to AB Auto on Evans Street. Pax was under a time hack. Once at AB Auto the PAX was instructed to find a tire and a axle. The PAX moved quickly alternating from regular time to double time.

Once  at AB a new TL was selected, Abu took the lead from Tonka and was asked to get the PAX tire, axle, and coupons to Pipers Truck. Once at Piers Truck the coupons were arranged in order and the PAX moved back the stage.

The last movement of the night was a challenge to fin a particular lock on the walkway – that had the combination on the back, The clue was given as to what color the lock was by singing “I love you… You love me” PAX yelled out Purple and the search was on, however it must be found via bear crawl. And the combination equaled the number or reps of each exercise : merkins, low squat hold, fitter kick – PAX picked the order. Also, once found if the coronation was not entered correctly then the exercises would double or triple… depending on how many times it took. The lock was found within about 10 minutes, and the combo was entered correctly. exercises were performed and the PAX mosey bask to the flag to the index if the even.

PAX learned to be safe, work together, listen to instructions, and lead with purpose. FNG was named Body Glide and must respect given to his first event being a 4 hour ruck!

See you Feb 3rd for the Bono/Bush 5 hour event. Details to follow.
