Way back on 11/9 Circuit Rider asked me to Q First Aid because he was planning on going home for the Christmas holidays.  Well he clearly doesn’t use a calendar, because he showed up ready to Q on Friday.  I even asked him what he was doing there and he still didn’t remember until after the warm-up was complete.  It’s all good though, I needed the responsibility of having the Q to make me get out. I’ve been traveling a lot for work the past few months (and it’s hunting season) so I’ve definitely gotten out of the routine needed to show up at 5:30 in the morning.  I must say this was one of the most fun AOs I’ve been to since starting F3.  Not because I was the Q, but because the PAX that were there made it so.  We got in a good workout I believe, but we laughed and talked the entire time.  Maybe it was that every one was in the holiday spirit, or maybe we were just simply having fun.  A lot of the laughing was at my expense, due to my lack of ability to count that day, but I didn’t care because the work was getting done and the guys were laughing.  I’m sure there would have been some that probably would have been disappointed that I didn’t announce each exercise by the correct formal text, or may have botched a cadence or count here or there, but to each there own.  You see I don’t go to F3 for some rigid military like presentation of exercises or to feel pressure for not doing something by a book of procedures that who knows who wrote.  I got into F3 because I enjoy working out to make myself better, but mostly the fellowship with other men that I don’t get a lot due to working from home.  Being surrounded by men of faith is just a great bonus.  Although I understand as much as anyone why structure is needed, I do feel like we can all get too serious at times.  For those that were at this workout, I apologize if my errors got it the way, but I also want to thank each of you men for putting a smile on my face all day, every time I thought about our workout.  It was something I needed personally, and believe the Lord put me and you all there, at least for me.  Alright that’s enough talking/typing, let’s get to the workout because this probably should have been a moleskin at the end.

Warm-Up

Good Mornings  and SSH

Mosey over to the Minges meadow for some Jack Webbs.  Thanks to String Bean and Wimpie for calling me out on the counting.  We were on our way to doing about 1,000 air presses I believe.

Next we jogged over to the road where we did an indian run to the bottom lot.  Starting with the first corner we had five locations of exercise to get us to the opposite end of the parking lot.

Corner one – 25 squats – run to next spot

Corner two – 20 merkins – run to next spot

Big Tree – 15 smurf jacks – run to next spot

Corner three – 10 lunges – 2 is 1 (This caused lots of confusion every time I tried to use this terminology.  It was comical though)

Corner four – 5 Hurpees

Plank for the six

Mosey over to the tennis court hill

Perform a modified version of Jacob’s Ladder – run up the hill a total of seven times.  while at the top start by doing two burpees and increase by two until seven up and downs are complete.  The Washington boys killed this exercise.

Mosey back to the flag

One round of 12, 2 is 1 American Hammers

Indian Run over to Elmhurst to the back playground.for a round of 7s with pull-ups and diamond merkins (plank for the six)

Jailbreak back to the flag for a some abs to finish us out.

The mumble chatter was great and lasted throughout the entire workout.  A large part of the group hung around for about 45 minutes afterwords for some great fellowship.

Special thanks to Mama’s Boy, Largemouth and Enron for making the trip from Washington to hit it with us.
