YHC has had this date circled on his calendar for quote some time for multiple reasons. The first was that this was to be my return as the MASH site Q. When I decided to make this my return date little did I know that I would still be on IR and would only be able to run the workout without participation on my part. This made me feel uncomfortable as I really wanted to be there sweating with the PAX and felt that I should be. The role of drill instructor is not for me. I believe that if you are going to dish out the pain then you should also be receiving it. I was encouraged by some other fellow Brothers that this would be ok so I decided to stick to my plan to Q. The second reason I looked forward to this day is because it is the start of all football practice for NC high schools. For a football junkie like me today is the beginning of a five month Christmas season. When I realized my return would coincide with this wonderful date I knew that the football workout I used for my site Q in last years Sasquatch would be making a return. I was happy to see four willing Pax arrive along with my youngest 2.0 who surprised me by deciding last night that he wanted to post this am. I gave a quick introduction that was needed since I only knew two of the pax and a disclaimer. With that we were off!

Warmups:

Arm and leg stretches 20ct each

SSH 20ic

Good Mornings 20ic

Arm Circles 15 forward, 15 backward

Seated leg stretches 20 ct each

The Thang: Mosey to Minges Meadow as this would be our gridiron today.

Foot stomping in place with agility changes: Get in a defensive football crouch. Start running in place. Listen for the Q to blow the whistle and point right or left. Turn for one step to the way the Q points and then come back to center.

BLIMPS: Nothing football related for these, just a nice way to move the pax to the other end of the field for our next drill.

Four Corners: The four trees on that end of the field were used for our markers. The pax started one at a time on the whistle blow from the front right corner. From right to left side straddle in a football crouch, back peddle at the next corner to the back left. Left to right bearcrawl to the next corner then get up and sprint back to the start. Rinse and repeat.

Suicides: Using the light posts (4) down the side of our field the pax were instructed to run suicides. The pax were divided into teams of two with Crack Corn being a lone rider. One partner would run the suicide drill while the other did merkins (standard style) and then switch off.

Lunges: Lunge back to the other end of our field.

Mountain Climbers with agility changes: The pax lined up on our original yard line from the first drill and did mountain climbers. When the Q blew the whistle and pointed they had to barrel roll over one time in that direction and the pick back up with the climber.

Up Downs: No football practice is complete without a round of up downs. These were standard football style with no frills just chop your feet in a defensive stance and drop down to the ground and back up as fast as possible on the whistle blow. I lost count but I think we did around 20 of these. I judged the time on how fast the pax were popping back up. When I saw them dragging I knew it was time to call it.

Mary: We moseyed back to the flag and I let the Pax call out thew mary.

Hello Dollies-15ic

It was a pleasure getting back out this am and getting to know some new pax members. I was also very happy to have ET join me. He has decided that he is ready to be a regular attendee so I will be back on a regular basis. I am still limited until the Dr gives me clearance but I will do what I can and improvise the rest. The most important thing is to get ET involved now that he is ready. I really appreciated the Pax this morning for all their hard work and effort. I made a deal with each Pax that I would be sure to post when the step up to Q so they could give back some of the pain to YHC.

Prayers and praises were given and YHC prayed us out.
