Some of this morning’s PAX were disappointed to find out that YHC didn’t plan for us to use any coupons today. We welcomed our visitor from Knoxville (Barbie, real name Kendall – get it, “Ken doll”) and our FNG. YHC gave a quick disclaimer and we were off. The goal was to move quickly and together. We began with 8 but picked up everyone’s favorite member of the Justice League about a quarter mile in to the ruck. When we met up with him we circled up and did the following:

10 ruck burpees (OYO)

10 flutter kicks with ruck overhead (IC)

10 ruck curls (IC)

10 ruck presses (IC)

Then we were quickly back on the path, but this time we lost strap privileges. Joker led us through the woods with a great double-time cadence and we stopped again for a second round of the same exercises and we were back on the path, but without handles or straps. When we made it to the outfield fence of the softball field we did the only acceptable thing; we paused and held people’s chair while each PAX gave a five count while holding his ruck directly in front of him. Down and back in this manner, then we were off again, but this time the ruck had to be overhead. We proceeded in this manner (got a funny look from a walker) until we reached the bathrooms, then we stopped for another round of burpee-flutter-curl-presses. When we completed that round we gained strap privileges back and we rucked quickly to the small soccer fields for bear crawls and crab walks with our rucks. Can’t speak for the rest of the PAX, but this part of the workout really smoked YHC. We continued along the path back to the flags (oh, that’s right, we have the Booty Flag – come and get it). When we arrived at the flags we went for one more round of what had become second nature by this point – burpees, flutter kicks, curls, and presses more curls (Aquaman got carried away).

It was really great to have Barbie visiting from Knoxville and have Jock Itch join us this morning. One of the great things about ruck workouts is that you get a chance to get to know the other PAX while you’re moving from location to location, both of these guys are pretty cool. Barbie said he’ll be in town all week, so if you see him at an AO, take the time to introduce yourself. He reminded YHC how great it is to hit a workout when you travel and know that you’ve got brothers in another city who will meet you in the gloom. Until next time, Nice Body out.
