YHC volunteered for this week’s Clydesdales at Ruck Ready last week.  Bench put a hurting on us (well, at least ME) and YHC was down for the rest of the week with a sore back, so I was eager to get back out this week and get some leakage on!  There are so many things you can do at The Stronghold that a quality plan comes together pretty quickly, and it’s often the simplest things that give the best beatdowns! I came up with a fairly simple plan and away we went.

Warm Up:
SSHs x25

Tha Thang:
THE BURPEE MILE (and a half) – YHC said simple. He didn’t say easy. Or fun. The route around the stadium is conveniently one-half mile. For the non-math majors in the PAX (you know who you are), that means 2 laps equals one mile. Clydesdales is technically “non-running” so the PAX would do 2 laps at their most comfortable pace (mosey or fast walk) and at every corner of the stadium (the brick circles at Gates 6, 9, and 4, and the area in front of Gate 1) they bust out 5 BURPEES.

Starting at Gate 6, the PAX banged out the first 5 burpees, and High Tide rolled in and earned us another 5 burpees for a late penalty. We finished up back at Gate 6 with a total count of 50 burpees.

At Gate 6:
Dips x15 IC at various speeds
Step ups x10 each leg

YHC then announced that the PAX were going to reverse direction and take one more lap around the stadium for an extra half mile of burpees. Final burpee count: 75.

To wrap up:
Head over to the brick wall at Gate 6 for Preachers Chair – 10 count from each of the PAX x2
Jack Webbs up to 5 Merkins/20 Hallelujahs
Circle up at the flag for Imperial Walkers x20 IC

COT/BOM:
Students (and their parents) coming back to college, teachers, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s MIL having surgery, family of Joe Albany who passed away and friend Shane, Puppet Master’s friend at church (3rd bout with cancer), Spell Check’s M – Mandy (chemo), folks traveling, Austin Bunch passed away, our nation, Leslie’s dad (leukemia), prospective new job for YHC.

Announcements:
Bench has the Q at Boyd Lee on Friday, 2nd Annual Educator Sunday at Puppet Master’s church for all teachers, Give2Give at Tonka’s house on Friday night, expansion in Little Washington next Saturday, Capital Ruck Tour 10/20 in Raleigh (get w/ Pied Piper to get on training list), Little League World Series starts this week (Go North State!)

Moleskin
The Clydesdales did a little more running today than usual for a non-running AO. YHC is not a runner, but it’s always good to get out of your comfort zone. The objective was for the PAX to stay together and push through as a group and not set a pace that would leave any man behind. This allowed for some good 2nd F and mumblechatter throughout the whole workout. YHC hopes everyone enjoyed his “simple” plan this morning! Iron Sharpens Iron! Aye!
