Great morning at the stadium as the Clydesdales were introduced to “Hurry Up and Weight”. We started out with a warm up including side straddle hops, good mornings, stretching and arm circles. My younger daughter told me that singing helps you pass the time and it makes things fun. We sang the ABC song during the arm circles and apparently my daughter was wrong. The clydesdales are not singers.

We moseyed to the meadow and divided into teams of 5 for Hurry Up and Weight. Each team had one member fast walk the length of the meadow and back with two 15 pound weights. While walking the meadow the Pax would first do curls and then pass the weights to another Pax when they returned. This process continued until all Pax completed the curls. This was repeated with tricep curls, shoulder presses and shrugs. The other non-walking team members remained behind and each team had a set of cards with different exercises that they would perform while their walking member walked the meadow. Returning walkers would pass off the weights, flip a new card and begin the exercises. Exercises included: dying Cockroach, Arm Circles, Hallelujahs, American Hammer, LBCs, Freddy Mercuries, Squats, Al Gore, Mountain Climbers, Wide Arm Merkins, Superman, Plank Jacks, Imperial Walkers, Plank, Burpees, and Merkins.

We finished up with some step ups on the curb and then a good old fashioned wheelbarrow race to ensure pain for everyone.
