I just want give a HUGE thank you to all the WARRIORS that posted this morning! Not only are we making “The Rush” at Ro-Hi a great workout, but it was refreshing to be around the PAX after a few days off because of the events unfolding in our communities due to Hurricane Matthew.

Warm Up

Side Straddle Hops x 15

Diamond Merkins x 15

Jump Squats x 15

The Thang

Mosey around the track in a “Indian Run” formation until we made it up onto the football bleachers. Here is where the pain began! DORA 1..2… (100 bleacher jumps & 200 irkins) We paired up… As one partner ran up and down the stairwell of the bleachers, while the other performed the said exercises until the reps were completed. First group done led the Circle of Pain until the PAX was finished.

From here, mosey to the soccer field for something Skipper, G-String, and myself arrived earlier to setup for the PAX. A relay race OBSTACLE course (160 yards there and back) with 4 different obstacles.

First Obstacle: 5 Agility Posts in a 5-star formation. Start on the bottom left of the star, sprint forward, back peddle, shuffle, shuffle, and sprint to the next obstacle.

Second Obstacle: Starting at the cone… Bear crawl to the next cone (15 yards) Sprint to the next obstacle.

Third Obstacle: Agility Ladder. Run through the ladder by placing one foot in each hole. Spring to the last obstacle.

Fourth Obstacle: (Option: 10lb or 25lb bumper plate) Grab the plate of your choice, hold it over your head, and sprint to the end cone and back to where you got the plate. Leave the plate, and sprint back to the very beginning for the next teammate to begin.

While the rest of the PAX was waiting in their respective line, they were completing a given workout, led in cadence by the next one to go through the obstacle course. Reps varied based upon completion times.

LBCs / Merkins / WWIs / Box Cutters / American Hammers / Scissor Kicks / Jump Squats

Losing team had 8 burpees to complete. Winning team held plank until burpees were completed by the losing team.

Next…. Mosey to one of the front parking lots of Rose. Starting at the curb, we ran a variation of wind sprints.

1st Quarter: First parking lane and back. Complete 10 copperhead squats when back.

2nd Quarter: Second parking lane and back. Complete WW1s when back.

3rd Quarter: Third parking lane and back. Complete 10 monkey humpers when back.

4th Quarter: To the opposite curb and back. Complete 10 staggered merkins when back.

Overtime: First parking land and back, second parking lane and back. Complete 10 burpees when back.

Mosey back to the flag for some Mary…. Mule Kicks, Scissor Kicks, American Hammers, Carolina Dry Docks

Moleskin

As mentioned above, today was very refreshing to be around the PAX again, as we have had issues with workouts due to city/county curfews. This morning’s obstacle course really symbolizes what our community is going through at this very moment due to the destruction Hurricane Matthew left behind.

However, even though this is a HUGE obstacle we are all facing within our community, I see many of us stepping up as leaders to overcome this devastating time as one united force. From seeing many at Cyprus Glen building the “Great Wall of Sand”, to some leading supply drives and helping out at many shelters, or Tonka setting up a donation drive for the victims.

Ultimately, I have seen many in the community put aside their differences to prepare for the flood waters and to begin repairs of our community. The extreme division that many of us have seen in the media, politics, or personal beliefs have been washed away by the flood waters. It is a humbling and awesome experience to see so many come together to help others in need!
