When Stabler asked me to Q a 2.0 workout at #116 I was excited. I love being taking Rocky to the 2.0 workout to have some fun and be get some exercise. He was very excited to Co-Q with me. What I didn’t realize at the time was how hard it is to come up with a workout that is fun for the kids. So…. here we go….

Warmup:

Imperial Walkers IC

SSH IC

Mountain Climbers IC

The Thang

We split into 2 teams, Adults vs 2.0’s. I had cones and set them out. We were going to do a few relay races to start things off.

Run backwards to cone, 5 SSH, run backwards back

Bear Crawl to cone, 5 squats, bear crawl back

Crab walk to cone, 5 push ups, crab walk back

The 2.0s whipped up on the adults. Losers performed 5 burpees.

Next I brought a couple soccer balls. We would dribble to the cone and back while the rest of the group did LBCs.

Mosey to the basketball court.

Bunny Hop the short sides and run on the long sides. At each corner 10 SSH

Leap Frog the short sides and run the long sides. At each corner 10 Merkins

Adults line up on 1 side of the court and 2.0s on the other. We run to the center and do 3 squats, giving high 5’s in between squats.

Rinse and repeat

Mosey to the baseball field.

Here we would play Splash Ball. My version of baseball. Adults Vs 2.0 again. I had water balloons for the baseballs. If you hit the balloon with the bat, it was 1 point. A miss was no points. After a hit or a miss run completely around the bases. First to 10 wins.

After the adults destroyed the 2.0’s, payback for crushing us in the relays, we mosey back to the circle. There was just enough time and plenty of balloons for a good old fashioned balloon fight. It was a great way to end a fun and exciting beatdown.

BOT/COT

Brownie- Dog from the creamery in Ayden that passed

Ariel’s friend Molly. Recently passed away after taking a fall and hitting her head.

All of the kids in the Children’s home and all the people who can’t go to Church.

The Fleming Family in Grifton.

Moleskin:

This was an absolute pleasure to lead this 2.0 workout. I love seeing kids out in the gloom exercising and more importantly having fun. I think this is a great way to teach kids the importance of exercising. The amount of laughter and smiles we had during the workout was unbelievable. It is definitely contagious. Your 2.0’s are missing out if you have not taken them to this workout yet.
