With 9 of the 11 PAX pulling EC, allow me to include The Calm along with The Storm in this backblast.  Mileage was wanted and needed, so 9 PAX got ahead start in The Calm.  The route was the usual and it is good.  If not familiar with it, post and find out.  Assuming you know, well then, you know.  The Calm’s route brings you back to the AO at the top of the hour where 2 more PAX joined us for The Storm.

Disclaimer given and pledge of allegiance nearly forgotten until PAX reminded YHC/Q that they’d just assume not leave, but address our country’s flag and then leave.  Following the Pledge, we set out to grab more miles.

We set our direction down Third street and then onto downtown past Mpourium and towards The Nipple.  We stopped just prior to crossing the nipple for a few Storm/rucksack exercises…mumblechatter expressed confusion that this wasn’t ‘just’ mileage as expected from YHC.  To that YHC says “Good”.  Ha!  But without giving the exercises too much of our time, we went over the nipple towards the hospital and then back again towards ECU campus parking deck.  After getting to the parking deck we did the meat locker x 5 and felt it.  YHC’s weinke was assuming we’d be able to ruck to top of parking deck as well, but Bench was wise to point out the time.  Consequently, we modified as needed and got back to the AO by way of library street to Cotanche, to 5th and back onto 3rd to the shovel flag.

COT: prayers for injured PAX (Punchout, 2-Stop, those not mentioned) for those in Afghan region, for BRR teams, check calendar for announcements – with the rate of the eastern fleet’s expansion there is seemingly always something going on.  As well, we openly discussed easy ways to lead…namely utilizing the calendar better to share who is scheduled to Q and the notion that connecting with your brothers personally when tapping them to Q (vs the Slack post listing the dates needing a Q to cover).  Balancing that use of technology to connect as well as inform.

Praise for Underdog, Haavaad, Newfie, and Patch who then took breakfast at Cracker Barrel before heading west to ruck 10 more miles on some Raleigh trails there.  HIMs getting ready to ruck the BRR.  Solid work men!
