6 for an EC Ruck and logged 3.16 mile. Back to the flag shortly before 0700 and were met by 5 more PAX. Short disclaimer given and we were off. Haavaad had a great idea to use The Storm as an opportunity to promote rucking the Blue Ridge Relay. YHC wanted to kick things off so we talked briefly about what the BRR was, hit the pledge and took off towards the fountain on campus by the Wright Auditorium. At the fountain, YHC described that the BRR was a race that had 36 legs. The “RuckerFellas” was a team of 12 and we broke into 6 two man teams so 36 and 6 were going to be key numbers for the beatdown. Talked about how we trained for the BRR by serious leg workouts and today, the PAX would experience one of those workouts.

We would do 6 rounds of the following;

36 low and slow squats (butt hitting the fountain bench) then a lap around both buildings with stairs to get our stair workout in. We would do three rounds with squats and then three rounds of step-ups (one is one); 36 reps each time. After each round, YHC gave each RuckerFella (and Urraca since he ran it) the opportunity to describe the BRR in one word; some of the words used were teamwork, determination, achievement and doable. After the 6 rounds, rucked back to the flag and got back shortly after 0800 for COT.

Great workout today by all and the legs definitely felt it! Key today was no matter if you set your goal to ruck the BRR, do GrowRuck, do a Star Course, etc…. just set a goal, join fellow PAX to train and Just Do It! The feeling you get at the end of doing one of these CSAUPs is great and once you complete it, start training for another goal. See you boys in the Mountains 2022! Until next time…
